The only thing you should really be comparing is the OS (Apple's or Microsoft's). Obviously Vista has had its problems (it's always going to be hard when making a huge transition), but Windows XP is one of the best OS ever made. I love it.


the idea is that you have the better os and better os/hardware compatibility all the time, but if you happen to need to do something windows only, you don't need a second computer.

i think that's the perfect solution

my question is: can you only run xp at this point? because the only reason i have for windows is playing command and conquer: red alert 2 every couple months and i don't think that will run on xp

XP SP2 or Vista. Both work. No earlier Windows will run.
