What don't you like about Rose? He's a 6'4 guard who is extremely explosive, can shoot a little and is a good passer. Plus, he's only what, 19? The kid's potential is through the roof.

I hate to admit this, but I agreed with what Skip Bayless said about him. I just don't see the killer instinct. He's a pretty good passer, but I don't think his vision is anything to write home about. Maybe it's that Dwyane Wade-like extremely calm demeanor that's throwing me off. I could be totally wrong about him. I'm just saying I don't think he's on the level of a Deron Williams or Chris Paul. I know he's a different kind of player, though.
Maybe he's not a weak #1 overall pick... Just not a very strong one, if that makes sense.
The disappointing thing about this draft for me is that I see a pretty considerable drop off after Rose and Beasley - and I can find more things not to like about most of the prospects after those two than I do like.

There are things about Mayo that I like more than Rose, actually.
He's bigger. He's better and more polished defensively (although Rose isn't bad). While he has some turnover issues, his court vision and passing skills are better. With some more polish I think he'll be somewhere between Chauncey Billups and Brandon Roy, which is fine by me.

Assuming Minnesota misses out on #1/#2, I have them pegged as a definite Mayo taker at 3 or 4. They need a PG, and although Mayo isn't a pure PG (combo), I'm sure Kevin McHale will love the star power/media attention that comes with Mayo. Mayo has been in the national spotlight since he was a middle schooler, the TWolves will look to rekindle some of those traits that Garnett brought to the table and their organization currently lacks.

I would love a Back court of Mayo and Sessions next year. I would assume that we would need to get the #3 pick to land Mayo (assuming Beasley & Rose go 1&2).
Does anyone know the percentages for the Bucks landing the #3 off hand? I know we got a 4.5% chance at #1, but I don't know what it would be for the rest. If someone could share this that would be appreciated.
We could than trade either Williams or Redd and have those guards play major minutes.
Sessions
Mayo
Mason
Yi
Bogut

I don't think Minnesota is necessarily a lock to draft Mayo. Their center position consists of Mark Madsen and Michael Doleac right now, so Brook Lopez is a real possibility. Plus they've already invested multiple 1st round picks on guards in the past few years (Foye, Brewer, McCants)

I agree, but I think the Sonics and the Knicks would be locks for Mayo at #3-4 though, IMO.

I agree that Brook/Jordan are viable options considering the void the Wolves have at center, but this is Kevin McHale we're talking about, he'll go guard.

Practically 3 rookies (Sessions, Yi and Mayo), a below average SF in Mason, and a good center in Bogut doesn't scream good team to me.
Get some real talent in here.
Trade Yi/Redd/Gadz for Brand/Mobley.
Trade Mo and CV for Childress (S&T) and Pachulia.
Draft Mayo and Richard Hendrix.
Mayo/ Sessions
Childress/ Bell/ Mobley
Mason/ Simmons
Brand/ Hendrix
Bogut/ Pachulia
Fill out the rosters with MLE, veteran minimums and undrafted FAs.
That team, IMO, would be very good defensively, and potent offensively.

Yeah you could do something like that but a back court with Sessions and Mayo could be great not before long. I didn't really feel inspired to include trade scenarios for Mo and Redd, because my main thought was Sessions and Mayo (instead of Mo and Mike). Obviously I would like to get an athletic wing at SF that could be an upgrade, but we would have to get one through trades, and I don't have any in mind right now.
