I'm going to do a similar breakdown that I did with Carlisle's teams, for Skiles head gigs with the Bulls. Offensive rating (points per 100 possessions), Defensive rating (points allowed per 100 possessions), and Pace (possessions per 48 minutes).
99-00 Suns (40-22, coached part of season): 16th OR, 3rd DR, 10th P
00-01 Suns (51-31): 22nd OR, 1st DR, 6th P
01-02 Suns (25-26, coached part of season): 19th OR, 12th DR, 10th P
03-04 Bulls (23-59): 29th OR, 16th DR, 7th P
04-05 Bulls (47-35): 26th OR, 2nd DR, 11th P
05-06 Bulls (41-41): 23rd OR, 7th DR, 5th P
06-07 Bulls (49-33): 21st OR, 1st DR, 6th P
07-08 Bulls (9-16, coached part of season): 26th OR, 14th DR, 11th P
Overall record: 281-251
Teams average ranks for FULL seasons coached: 24.2 OR, 5.4 DR, 7.0 P
Some things that stand out, his teams were not efficient offensively, but were not slow it down teams like most people think, finishing in the top 11 in pace every full season under him, and top 7 twice. The low OR totals can be attributed to the fact that the Bulls have been a jumpshooting team his entire tenure, with no legit post offensive threat (that is still the Bulls primary problem to this day, and trading TT for Aldridge just magnified it).
Defensively, his teams hold opponents down, as can be seen by the rankings. Three top 7 rankings his past three years. Now, obviously the Bulls have better defensive personnel than we do, but he demands defense and will sit guys who don't play it.
I think we have more offensive talent than his Bulls team and less defensive talent, so it will be interesting to see what happens. If Bogut can take another leap forward it would help our cause immensely.

I'm interested in his relationship with Hinrich. From the outside it would appear Hinrich would probably be available, if Skiles was to come in and had a good relationship with him I would be very interested in 'buying low' on Hinrich, I'm not sure if they fell out towards the end of his time in Chicago or not.
After watching recent Bucks teams these numbers seem almost alien, it would be great to see our team play some defense. From a hypothetical standpoint we should be more successful offensively than those Bulls teams, as there is no doubt that one of our biggest strengths was their biggest weakness, a legitimate inside presence.

Kirk is nice but his contract is huge:
2008/9: 10,000,000
2009/10: 9,500,000
2010/11; 9,000,000
2011/12: 8,000,000
36.5 M in 4 years.

Doubtful that Bulls will trade Hinrich. No one else can play the PG position. Gordon, Thabo & Hughes cant handle it & Duhon will almost certainly leave.
Actually $36 million is not bad in today's NBA Market for an experienced PG. Bulls dont consider him as overpaid, especially when Gordon & Deng turned down more money last season.

The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials.
