It just occurred to me in another post - because of Nebula, but I can't wait to see Sessions and Yi together. Sessions creates for guys who can shoot mid-range to outside and who can run. Yi is like a perfect weapon for him.

Yi has a lot more upside IMO. Athletic, quick and skilled 7-footers like that don't grow on trees. He's got a lot to learn, but I like what I've seen from him.

Sessions looks to be the steal of his draft class now though, nice catch by Milwaukee.

I vote Yi of course because that's why I follow the Bucks. However, I do think Ramon Sessions also has a bright future. The one thing though is that there is much more to lose if Yi does not end up as a quality player. So hopefully these two players will help add to the Bucks getting into the playoffs.

It will be interesting to see how everything turns out that's for sure.

They were saying that about Yao and he's developed nicely, both physically and skill wise. I don't see why that would be different for Yi, since there's never been reports of him dogging it or not being a hard worker.

Besides, China isn't stupid. Although I'm sure there are stubborn people in their system wanting Yi all to themselves, they still allowed him to play in the NBA. Yi not playing well just makes them look bad, so logically speaking they'd give Yi the room and chance to grow as well as possible, which is with the Bucks moreso than with them.

Gun to my head, I'd go with Yi since he still has the same potential as he did at the beginning of this year: an opportunity to become an exceptional player. He'll have the chance to improve on those subpar aspects while refining the positive aspects he has now, I don't see how he won't improve in the upcoming years. His growth curve is quicker than Yao, and it really took Yao about 5 years to become accustomed to everything in the NBA and U.S.

The thing about Yao is, if memory serves me, this is the second time he's had foot problems, and China is hell-bent on him playing in the Olympics this summer, whether his injury is fully healed or not. Yao is getting very close to becoming the next Bill Walton - chronic foot problems that keep him off the floor as often as he's on it. China may not be stupid, but in regards to Yao, they're already acting like they are. And I'm afraid in the long term, Yi will get rolled up in the propoganda machine as well.

Sessions definitely has the better chance to show up his draft status. As to who has more potential to be the better player, I will say Yi because I think his athletic ability at the position gives him a tool to be very good if his other elements come together.

But Yao wants to play for China and the Olympics. He has said during a post conference when he first injured his foot this year that the Olympics would be the most important time of his career up till that point. Not sure how adamant Yi feels about playing for China during his career though. Don't get me wrong though, I definitely think that if Yao didn't play for China during his off seasons and all those little tournaments that he'd be more durable.

Yi should be more durable than Yao though. Yao is a plodding, massive, even in NBA standards, man. Yi is much more agile than Yao. Yi also shouldn't have to recover as long between years and games as Yao takes. I'm in the minority but I think Yi could still be a better player than Yao, and I think Yao's a top 5 when healthy player in the game. Then again I'm probably in a minority in thinking Yao is a top 5 player as well.

I think Yi at the very least will have a career like Detlef Schrempf.
