Donnie Walsh is supposed to clean up the mess in NY

Not make it worse.

Meaning they have no use for Redd's skillset and contract.

Crawford gives them what Redd would at a reduced price.

TI:Redd to Knicks?

Post#2 » by Johnny Newman » Wed May 7, 2008 8:31 pm

How about Redd and $2 million cash to Knicks for Crawford and Richardson? I was gonna say there 2009 first rounder too. But then its pushing it. Were breaking Redds big contract into two players. Richardson expires a year sooner then Redd while Crawford expires same year as Redd. Its a crazy idea. But its Miller time and i'm bored. Guess its xbox 360 time. Could possibly dig deeper into the deal and add CV and get like Balkman in return? Or if our #7 is crap maybe get Lee in return? Crawford can play some pg too. So this deal gives us 2 sgs for 1. Also can still deal Mo. I'm sure i'm gonna get killed here soon as I hit the post button. Be gentle.

My thought is why even bother making this deal? Yeah, those 2 guys can do similar things to Redd. I don't see what having 2 guys with the same contract if you add it all up does instead of having Redd. It isn't like these guys have proven they can win in NY. I feel like this would be just making a trade for the sake of making a trade.

If we make a deal involving Redd it needs to involve at least probably 2 of these 4 things.
1. A defensive-minded role guy
2. A young guy with potential
3. A first round draft pick
4. A big expiring

That trade satisfies zero of the qualifications.

That is even worse. We get the same so-so deal and then give up CV AND a lottery pick for Lee?

I haven't watched Lee that much lately but I don't know if he's THAT good.

I really just don't see anything I want off the Knicks besides David Lee.

And as much as I would love David Lee, I'm just not sold on him as a starter so I'm not really tempted to give much for him.

I would give up this years pick #7 or lower for David Lee, but I don't see why the Knicks would.

I don't want Crawford or Richardson at the expense of Redd. It's just not worth it to me.

(Plus Skiles hates Crawford and had him traded so there is zero chance we would acquire him)

I would add
5. A (near-)superstar

There are some early-playoff-exit teams on tilt right now. Those are the teams I'd target first.

crawford is the rea l reaso n for the knicks demise.

it may not show up i n his stats, but every NBA guard loves t o be guarded by Crawford. and every NBA tea m loves to see Crawford throw up his nightly 30 50 foot bricks.

if you can jus t say no to drugs.

just say No to crawford.

has jalen Rose officially retired yet? he would be a great guy to pick up. I love his complaining nd whining press conferences about how he is mistreated by everybody. I guarantee he would steal some headlines away from the packers.

that's another reason to trade for artest. That guy would put milwaukee bucks basketball on the front page. and the Bucks might even be a better team as part of the deal.

I don't like it, the Knicks pick and Lee are the only things I'd want from them right now and I doubt they'll be open to trading either of them for Redd at this point.

Yes, Skiles was a loud proponent of trading both Curry and Crawford.

Neither one will ever put on a Bucks jersey.

Uh, Redd and Gadz for Marbury? No way NY does it, but that's the Knick deal I like.

That might be the worst trade I've ever seen on this board. We give up the best player in the deal, a young big on a rookie deal, and our lottery pick for a hustle guy and two malcontents? Wow.
