There are few things more frustrating than trying to troubleshoot an old storage hot water system that's on an overnight controlled load feed.

"Okay, I think that's it?" next day, cold showers again...

I have no idea what an overnight controlled load feed is. Sounds like a cattle feeding system.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Ha! :)

off peak power- do you cats have the same sort of thing? Basically you have a dedicated circuit in your house for appliances that use a lot of power but don't particularly need to be run through the day, like storage hot water systems (or pool filters etc.)- they only get a feed of power to run at set times overnight (so between say 10pm-7am) and get charged a tiny amount of the regular power rate (I think it's only about 1/3).

So basically, if you have an old setup sometimes it might not be working and you try a couple of basic fixes but have to wait until the next morning to get an idea. :)

The cold shower thanks to the busted hot water system takes care of that pretty quickly. ;)

What's the ratio? I've got some Penzey's smoked paprika around here somewhere...

I've been throwing Sriracha in my mayo lately.

If I wanna get fancy I make an aioli with a couple canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce. Mogies in Eau Claire turned me on to the stuff with one of their sandwiches but it was so good I put it on everything. Dead simple to make at home.

I haven't tried mixing a big batch of it yet, and I tend to cook with my hands and eyes. I am guessing it's about 2 tbsp mayo to 1 tsp smoked paprika. And I tend to add a touch of olive oil and salt, as well (I'd recommend garlic, as well, for an aioli - I just can't have it personally).

But even just mayo and smoked paprika is outstanding. I tried it to make some thing different for a fry sauce, but now can't wait to try it with brisket on a sandwich. That would be such a good match.

Speaking of mayo, believe the hype. A layer of it on your steak makes for the best crust.

I just went to a site to check on some info on a bushfire that's burning in my area, and this is the current image they have up for different fires to get info on for my state (each image is a separate fire that people are working on). This is very Australia in summer.

That looks like when I used to sabotage my own game of Sim City.

Ιn Greece we have bushfires most summers, and when they start, people try to put them out, you get planes, helicopters, firemen, random people all trying their best.

In Australia when you have a bushfire you just get the **** out of the way.
Just a different beast.

I believe the underground butcher was a topic of discussion a while back. Apparently the owner has a few more issues than just the uppity neighbors complaining about the smoke. Sounds like a real winner
