Hammond snuck into his office to make this trade while drew and Morway went to bed.

I don't get the Middleton love at all. He was extremely mediocre even when half the teams he was playing against we tanking. IMO Butler easily gets you more wins then him and if you combine Delfino and Butler as opposed to G-Bo and Middleton you get a decent amount more wins.*

*By decent I mean you get like 30-33 wins instead of 28 or something.

Well the Bucks might just sell a few more 10 packs of tickets in Racine, but with all the free tickets Butler will have to give out to his friends and family, I can see our attendance numbers jumping from 2nd lowest attendance to 3rd!

Suns fans are trying to say if it's not Henson coming back then has to be our 1st. I like Suns fans but come on guys, a 33 year old Caron Butler for a young player and a potential top 10 pick in a loaded draft?

I think this was a Kohl move all the way, I bet Hambone and Morway didn't get a vote, they just have to file the paper work.

Hammond would be a fool to include any kind of pick to take on Butler. Udoh is more then enough. To bad this board couldn't resist burning a bridge, this would be a nice time to send Hammond a text.

I'm sure this was mentioned but wasn't the whole 'spin' and reason for not trading for Eric Bledsoe was the fact that we weren't willing to take on Caron Butler's contract? Local media actually ran with that right?

If the trade is Kratsov, Udoh, & one or more 2nd round picks that's a really foolish trade, all things considered. I definitely would like to see Udoh moved, but I'd rather just trade him for a 2nd round pick himself & keep the 2nds we'd give up in this trade.

We already have Delfino, Middleton, & Giannis to play SF. I really want Middleton & Giannis to get as many minutes as possible. I realize Giannis might not be quite ready, but I don't care. Still, he can get a handful of minutes here & there throughout the season as long as Delfino & Middleton are the only other SFs. Ugh. The person who loses the most minutes out of this is Middleton, which is very frustrating. He's the sleeper out of that Jennings trade, IMO, and I really want to test him with significant minutes and see what we have. With Butler & Delfino on the roster, he's going to get Tobias'd this season...

I would have been more ok with this if we had not signed Delfino. Just shows how unnecessary that Delfino signing was. I like Delfino as a player, and I actually like Butler as well. This just isn't smart roster or asset management.

I most certainly WOULD have been on board with Butler being on the team if we wouldn't have screwed up the Reddick trade & wound up with Bledsoe & Butler. The frustration of that trade had JUST started to creep to the back of my mind, but this really rips the scab off of that...

This kills the logic that we turned down the Clippers in the Bledsoe deal because of Caron's contract.

Knowing this GM, we probably turned down the Clippers because of Bledsoe's contract.

@paulcoro: A #Suns trade of Caron Butler to the Bucks for Ish Smith & Slava Kravtsov (no pick) should be finalized Thursday. Suns add $5.65M cap space.

There's really nothing to complain about with this trade, it's actually very good trade.

Some of you may have already read this article, but for those who haven't it's a great read on Butler's life:

Still don't get what we think we're going to accomplish this season. Dumbfounded.
