They want to cut pay roll to make a run at Gasol or Alridge...so they would be looking to give him away

I get that but I could imagine some team giving them cap space and a first or something, which I would not.

Toronto has an extra first they could give, I am guessing :D

I'd rather have Robin Lopez than Kanter without question. Lopez isn't great at anything, but is solid at most everything. Play him 30 minutes and we could get about 12 points and 9 boards, with solid defense. He's also only 26.

Problem is though he'll have multiple other suitors.

I just have zero interest in guys you do not need to account for on the offensive side of the court. RobinLopez is also going to be on his 4th team in a relatively short amount of time. Not really any big outside of Marc Gasol that I find interesting, Gasol isn't coming to Milwaukee.

Lopez isn't inept offensively. Look around at what's potentially realistic with available centers. There isn't anyone available who is really good both offensively and defensively. Centers like that don't become available.

A guy like Kanter can score, but he's a massive liability on defense. Robin Lopez at least is solid defensively and isn't inept offensively. Of those two, i'd take Lopez easily, but he'll be in demand and likely gets paid more than he's worth.

Will you guys be able to afford Jabari/lopez/Giannis Antetokounmpo/Henson and Middleton?

I just look at building a winning team, the Bucks already have 3 starters with very limited shooting range, Robin Lopez brings nothing offensively, how can you space the floor with 4 starters who predominantly score in the paint, if they can score at all?

Yeah I agree and mentioned this the other day. It's no secret that they're going after LA and prolly willing to give away splitter for relief.... My only hang up is Milw might actually be looking for a higher profile C since there are quite a few to be had for the 1st time in a while.

Rolo has a pretty adequate 10-20 foot jumper.

We aren't going to win a title next year. The Bucks need to hope that over the next few years both of Giannis and Parker develop their jump shooting because if they don't, the team won't be really good regardless of any center they were to acquire. Same for MCW if he is kept long term, which may or may not be the case.

Hopefully Middleton is signed to a long term deal and Vaughn develops into a spacing threat. Other players could also be acquired over the next year or two that can shoot.

Center doesn't have to be a position going forward where that starter is a good shooter and for what it's worth, Robin Lopez has improved as a mid-range shooter.

BTW, I'm not trying to say Lopez is some great player, just that of potential options out there, i like him better than most others mentioned on some 3-4 year deal because it's not just about next season.

Woelfel was just on the fan saying the bucks have no meeting planned for Jordan. Sparky mention the report and it seemed woelfel knew nothing about it.

No thank you.

Much rather have Chandler.

If you're going big you go after M Gasol.

Let me get this straight.....You think it will be easy to give away Zaza, Bayless, Mayo?

Yes. What you think it would be hard to move any of those guys who are on an expiring deal? You dont think you could move Bayless for a 2nd rd pick? Or the Bucks do a S&T with the Clippers and put Bayless or OJ or Zaza in it. I think moving any 1 of those 3 is the easy part.

Clips need a bench badly. They don't have money to go and sign FAs and they really have nothing that they could offer to sign and trade for someone, so is it that farfetched to think we could give them a few role players back for Jordan? Zaza would fill an immediate hole (left by Jordan) and Bayless or even Plumlee (or even even Shawne Williams) could come in and play a significant role off their bench.

As much as I would love Jordan on this team I have to be realistic. We will talk to him, but in the end we will end up signing Chandler. He's cheaper and because of JKidd

This is probably true, though the Bucks have a sneaky decent chance of getting it done. They can make a strong case that they'll be able to put together a better, more promising roster than Dallas and with more flexibility. No state tax in Texas and local roots will pose a formidable obstacle though. Bucks will have to sell a clearer playoff path and a higher likelihood of being a high seed come playoff time. Gotta hope the desire to get out of the shadow of Paul and Griffin and the rift with Paul is true. And also have to hope the Lakers don't miss out on their higher ranked targets.

Probably sell him on being one of the top centers in the east and a perennial all star. Give him a 3 year max deal with a wink wink opt out deal that we will reup with him when the cap increases. And that we'll run plays for him to get his.

Still not going to happen, but it should tell you guys something that he is even taking a meeting with us. We've come a long long way.

Still hearing nothing about Gasol. I'd love to think that we are targeting the guy with no reports.

Maybe they made the Vasquez trade once they received the signal that their interest in the "max" guys would not be reciprocated.

Now, they move onto plan B, which is to sign Chandler, who they should have plenty of cap space for even with General Greivis on board.

Splitter would be a solid trade option. We could offer, Butler, Williams/JOB and Plumlee. This clears about $6.5M in cap space for the Spurs. I would still look to sign another big since we would be left with Giannis, Splitter, Zaza and Henson as solid options at either the 4 or 5 to start the season. Brandon Bass, Ed Davis, Kosta Koufos, Kyle O'Quinn and Alexis Ajinca would all be on my short list.

Rather stick with playoff Henson over giving Jordan a max contract.

There's really no point in getting worked up either way on Jordan because there is less than 0% chance it happens. I'm surprised the Bucks are even wasting time with him.
