Yeah, there are some pieces missing here, to put it mildly.

who knows. they might already have discussed re-signing him after buyouts in a week.

The deadline is over a month away.

contracts become guaranteed on january 10th.

so apologies, not buyouts. cuts so contracts arent guaranteed.

I don't buy for a second that the Bucks are waiving Boogie for Roster flexibility.. They're waiving him because the owners are being cheap.

Boogie has deff played well enough to earn a spot on the roster spot for the reminder of the season .

I can't think of anything that makes sense outside of being cheap OR needing the roster spot for some greater purpose.

The problem is that guys who are NG'd and contribute aren't being cut. We're being cheap and signed Kornet to bridge part of that gap. There are 23 guys in this league that are NGd. Most will become guaranteed. None of those cut will be better than Boogie.

They're being cheap, but even if we want to play along and pretend they are doing this for roster flexibility. Who are you getting with that flexibility that will contribute more than Boogie.

Boogie just had 15/10 in 20 minutes tonight.

Plus we need him on our roster for the simple fact we need a big who isn't trash.

Well, other than him being a brutally bad defender with a perpetually immature attitude.

I think the last straw for Bud was Boogie walking up and down the floor versus Detroit. Bud looked annoyed.

Same.

I feel like this move is bad karma for the Bucks. Like Boogie will sign with the Heat or something and break Giannis' hand (not intentionally) on a hard foul and put Giannis out for the season. I am a karma guy and this one gives me a bad vibe.

Eh on that. Brady spent a career cheating and refs fellating him and continues to win rings.

It doesn't send a great message, on that I agree.

We're no worse off defensively playing him at C than we are playing Semi at C, and Semi does less than nothing offensively, where Boogie has been excellent. I think there's more to it than play, and he seems well liked, so I don't think the Bucks were turned off by his perpetually immature attitude.

Do you disagree that it's weird for the GM of a team to express interest in bringing back a player immediately after announcing he's voluntarily waiving that player? It's weird, right?

Not at all weird, it's just being professional. We're just maintaining the idea around the league that playing for Milwaukee helps your career.

Semi won't be playing center, and wasn't signed to play center. He's immaterial to the discussion.

Absolutely perplexing move. Guaranteeing meant how much more money?! Couldn’t have been more than a million or two.

I don’t get this at all. Plus the team has looked like A$$ the last two games while the Bulls keep rolling and Kyrie is now back.

Not liking the direction we are heading guys…someone speak some comfort to me here!

Strange move right here, only thing that could possibly make sense is his attitude.

Was explaining to my son last week why Boogie was available for the Bucks to sign. About a minute later there was that sequence where he started pouting and jawing with the refs on both ends of the court during a complete offense-defense sequence. Pointed out that it never occurred to Boogie that a game was still actually in progress.

IDK, never saw it with Boogie. He got some empty stats but looked insanely unathletic. Except on one deadball spin baseline and left hand dunk. Otherwise pump fake, head down, drive to lane where hasn't really beat his defender and just kinda shoulder falls into his defender whilst throwing up a layup and going in fairly often. And real bad on D. That's just my eye test though.

Also super annoying he gets into it with opposing players for petty **** like every other play.

Could the Bucks just be avoiding the guarantee date and then resign?

Did Nehm have anything interesting about this in his piece?
