We aren't shooting 3's....forget about making them....it's like the team has tunnel vision all of a sudden.... actually, it's Giannis and Jrue who seem to have tunnel vision.... But, anyway, some numbers for reference
Regular Season: 38.4 3PA --> 14.1 3PM --> 36.6%
vs Chicago: 36.8 3PA --> 14 3PM --> 38%
vs Boston: 28.3 3PA --> 8.8 3PM --> 29.2%
The fall off is drastic. And we aren't even trying to shoot. Here are the game by game shooting numbers
Game 1: 34 3PA --> Won
Game 2: 18 3PA --> Lost
Game 3: 34 3PA --> Won
Game 4: 27 3PA --> Lost
Not one game is above our normal 3PA average. Both games where we had 34 3PA, we won and both games we lost had an average of 22 3PA. They need to shoot 3's. Yes, they need to make them, but honestly, they need to at least shoot 30+ to give themselves a chance.
They better stop playing hero ball and playing bucks ball. Or it's going to be a bad offseason.

Re: Round 2, Game 5 - Bucks at Celtics - 5/11/22 - 6:00 - TNT
My confidence is at 60/40 that we win tonight
Keys I'd like to see
Bobby back to starting, Grayson off bench - both players have performed worse since flipping
Giannis needs to control his emotions, save his energy, stay focused, stop shooting threes, just attack
Jrue needs to facilitate early and often to get other guys engaged and open looks
We won't win if Bobby/Pat/Grayson aren't getting chances to contribute early
Jevon needs to play over George, but I have little confidence we will see this happen
Bud has to adjust defense on Horford or we are just cooked
We've won on the road before, we've come back from series deficits, our margin of error is just razor thin with no Khris

I have low confidence but this team has tons of character and perseverance so I know they will probably make this as difficult as possible.

I'm not sure if it's possible with the way they changed their D, but would be nice for Giannis to get the ball baseline or near the paint and have him slow down. Feel he is rushing the attack versus waiting for the double or for his teammates to move to create an opening. He was looking great in game 1 where he didn't rush. Saves a ton of energy too

Hopefully Giannis can channel some 2012 game 6 Lebron vs Boston.

Middleton being out is a huge loss for this team, am keeping perspective there.
That said we need other guys to step up the way they did when Giannis was out vs the Hawks.
BroLo and / or Bobby need to take what Horford just did to us personally.
Allen needs to play like he did vs Chicago as opposed to being this year's Bryn Forbes.
This team has played some of its best basketball when our back was against the wall. Time to do so again.

Last year in the finals Jrue followed up a 4-20 performance in game 4 with a phenomenal shooting performance in game 5 on the road. We desperately need that Jrue tonight.

The fact that we're only shooting 29.2% from 3 means it's a good thing we're taking less of them.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

This is what I noticed. The Celtics' Guards were getting into the paint and to the basket way too easily. There were a couple times when they were penetrating and Hill, while "guarding" someone in the corner, just stood there flat-footed and watched them fly by. Jevon Carter needs to play tonight, period.

Giannis and Jrue need to shoot fewer threes, and the whole team needs to make the extra pass so our role players can take at least 25 catch and shoot threes.

No reason to think we will shoot 29.2% in the upcoming games when we have shot 25%-30% higher throughout the season. The percentage of teams winning while making 7 3P's less a game is in single digit percentages. Boston has 61 3PM. We have 33. It's extremely hard to win giving away that much in 3P's and if we decide to shoot less because we shot 29.3% so far, series is likely lost.

Yes, and with the way they're loading up on Giannis' drive it really shouldn't be difficult to move the ball for easy open 3s, yet it's not happening. This is like Tor all over again so far.

One thing to note is that Jayson Tatum is probably the biggest frontrunner in the game right now. If Boston gets out to a lead and he's getting open shots, he's going to be shooting 430%. Keep it close (or even hold a Bucks lead) and he becomes a lot more manageable. That's why making sure Big Al doesn't keep them afloat is really important. He is their most important offensive player right now (aside from Brown going nuclear).

I agree, start Bobby, bring Grayson off the bench, both play better in those roles. I would play Jevon over George too. I wish if Giannis was left open for three, he would come in for midrange or come in then dish out.
Must stay on Horford and not double off of him.

Re: Round 2, Game 5 - Bucks at Celtics - 5/11/22 - 6:00 - TNT
Gotta have the same formula from Game 1. Swing the ball and make the Celtics close-out and defend from side to side. 60-65 shots between Gianni and Jrue is not awesome. They'll both be shot by the fourth quarter since much of their scoring comes from physicality. These guys have to trust Allen, Bobby, Pat, Hill and others to make their shots and make it easier on them. Yes, Khris's presence is sorely missed but that doesn't mean the Big Two have to try and do it themselves. Way too much stagnation late in games. Last game was winnable for about 85% of the game until the Bucks just wilted mid-4th.
I'd actually start the Jumbo lineup with Bobby and have him play an aggressive hedge/recover defense on the perimeter. He can at least get back to contest a Horford three, whereas Brook can't if he's playing a deep drop. Force their guys to make super-tough contested layups. I know Bud is obsessed with cutting off the paint but some of those miracle Tatum layups late were literal prayer shots that happened to go in.
I maintain that guys like Pat (especially), Allen and Bobby can contribute more if they are given the chance to, even despite their limitations defensively. If collectively those guys make 6-8 threes it makes a world of difference.

No ISO hero ball from Jrue/Giannis that's all i ask. Play team ball and if we lose/shots don't fall so be it. Just no dumb Iso Ball please for the love of god.

Part of the reason Giannis gets so exhausted has got to be that we continually start his offense above the break and he's trying to weave around or through 4 defenders. Can't we do any pnr with Giannis as the roll man?

How the **** are they still whining about the refs? Your team played great and stepped up to win the last game and you can't shut the **** up even now? It's pathetic at this point.
