Just heard by a play by play announcer in the game of the Greek NT that Giannis just flew back to the US to be re-evaluated by the doctors. This will probably determine his participation in the WC.

I agree. Giannis shouldn't play for Greece. They're not the ones paying 50 mil a year In an ideal world he'd retire from FIBA competition altogether. Just a pointless risk of injury.

It was a known thing months earlier I told you. It's the right thing and this year's Greece was very limited anyways. No shooting, no pure scorers, no guards and a soft 5. Giannis would got double/triple teamed for the whole tourney on a sore knee. Let him heal and we will try in the Olympics which is far more important.

Or we'll just expedite and naturalize Khash for the Olympics as his running mate I remember last fall when Greece was playing Italy in the group stages of Eurobasket in Milan, and Khris showed up a bunch of Greeks online were like "Khris, become a Greek citizen and join the team to give us some shooting." Also there are a few reports of bickering between players and the coach. Usually there is a brotherhood and nothing bad leaks out. After a bad exit from the WC a lot may change (and should change if they want Giannis back)

It's really too bad Vezenkov represents Bulgaria. Would be a perfect frontcourt partner for Giannis in int'l play.

Greek bball federation had the chance to get him early on but didn't make any attempt .(he is born in Cyprus from Bulgarian parents, and grew up in Greece).
