He's gonna re-sign Khris/Brook and make an on-the-fringes move involving Portis/Allen and cross his fingers they make another Finals appearance. Can't say I blame him, but it is to the detriment of our longevity as a true contender. Does adding a Rozier or Quickley get us over the hump? One can only hope.

I have 2 thoughts here.. 1. Griff is a defensive coordinator, having Jrue at the point of attack should theoretically be a huge advantage for our defensive concepts next season. I’d imagine that was a huge talking point of emphasis during Griffs interview process. But that’s just pure speculation..

and 2. Yes, I think something as simple as adding some form of offensively inclined bucket getter guard is enough to get us over the hump we are currently stuck on.. Rozier/Quickley would be a breath of fresh air for what we’ve watched the past 2 seasons. I’d add Buddy Hield to the mix as well as lower end realistic roster upgrades…

It *could* work but the reality that ensues if it doesn't is a heartbreaking thought. Giannis gone, saddled with salary, hello darkness my old friend.

Yeah I agree with you there. It’s a scary thought that whatever happens this off-season is the beginning of the end of Giannis in Milwaukee. Makes me a little sick to my stomach thinking about it but just have to hold out hope Horst doesn’t completely **** it up.

It’s definitely something they need to consider but I’m sure they view the current team as a title contender and any get younger move will likely take them out of contention in the short term and then they might lose Giannis anyways and never contend again.

If Giannis were willing to sign an extension, then yeah, you can probably play it a little more long term but otherwise I think getting younger is a really tough move to make.

Lillard has said publicly that the guy he’d like to pair up with is Giannis. If Giannis can recruit at all, he’ll at least get our name in the mix.

IMO the window is already closed with this core but even if its not its in its absolute twilight, these guys won't fetch us a return at all in a few years and we don't want to get to the end of the rope where Giannis walks while we're screwed asset wise for the rest of the decade. Locking ourselves in with guys who at best have a window of a couple years is a recipe for disaster, not doing anything is death. I'd rather make an attempt to build for the future & **** it up than chasing the dragon to get one last nut before a decade of misery.

Draft night will be veeerrryyy interesting. As loyal as Lillard is and has been, no way he signs on for playing with Scoot (or Miller). Portland management seems to be realizing there isn't the market they thought for #3/Simons. They're headed for rough waters.

Beal was always going to go for way less then people on this board thought because of his albatross of a contract which is why the idea of trading Jrue for him strait up was absurd

Is Beal setting the market for LaVine?

Bobby, Pat, Allen, MarJon is enough salary going out. Bulls can have our 2029 FRP + whatever swaps and 2nds.

Assuming Midds opts out to resign at 4/130 Bucks will have 155 mil tied to Jrue/LaVine/Midds/Giannis Big 4.

Keep Brook with 10ish money and fill the roster with vets. You can even avoid the 2nd tax apron.

Make it happen Horst.

Yeah, I think that’s totally fair. I think we can contend with this core for one or maybe two more years if we’re lucky but feels like we’re in a situation at this point where no matter what we do, it’s not likely to be great for us.

Tough position that we’re in.

I do at least think our apparent interest in Beam suggests our front office is more open to making big moves this off-season than I expected so we’ll see. Maybe they will end up pulling something out their ass.

It doesn’t really sound like the offers for Beal can really get worse anyways so I don’t see why the Wizards would rush it. If the offer they’re currently sitting on is a couple expiring contracts and some second round picks, I would definitely hold out for more.

I think that's what they'll end up getting.

Beal has the worst contract in the league. They should be thrilled to get off of it for free.

I’ll never agree with the idea that good players are the worst contract in the league when there are legitimately bad players on big contracts too even if they aren’t quite as big.

I think he may be legitimately bad and making $50MM in a few years personally.

Really glad we didn't get him.

Bucks desperately need to upgrade at the two. Who would be the perfect player to trade for?

Cupboards are bare for trade assets. Pretty much any of Allen PatC for sure should be on the trade table. Also Booby should be but is a fan favorite and took a discount. So who knows. Not much of anything other then maybe Rozier or something. FVV opted out and we don't have the cap for him. Unless Middleton opts out and bolts. Then we may had like $15M to $16M to spend before Bird rights on our guys I believe? Or Carter or Beauchamp maybe starts in the backcourt with Holiday.

Lmao @ Beal being the worst contract in the league. There's actual bad players with crazy contracts, it's not a good contract but jesus christ we can talk without going to extremes

We have nothing to go get Dame, I just can’t see it happening. The Jrue trade was a huge win because we won a ring because of it but it’s going to suck being on the outside looking in with some of the big moves coming in the next year or two.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
