As a father, I loved that my kids would cheer for a man (Jrue) good enough to step away from work to care for his ill wife. As a coach, I loved that my kids cheered for a guy that was a fearless, willing, and gifted defender. As a fan, Jrue sure made some incredible plays that had me amazed. The valley oop was probably the best two play sequence in team history.

Love you Jrue, best of luck.

This would make me even sadder. I hope Giannis and Jrue still got love for eachother.

The last sentence piques my interest. “Until next time.” Maybe I’m misinterpreting it, but it sounds like Jrue plans on coming back and retiring as a Buck.

Could he realistically find a way to sign with us after next offseason if he declines his PO?

He'd have to take a discounted deal or someone's orchestrating a sign & trade. Probably means til next time he's playing here vs. the Bucks, coming back to do something here, maybe post-playing days.

Giannis' NYT line about sacrificing family time was odd enough that I could see it being in relation to something without being too conspiratorial parsing Holiday's repeated references to "family" in his goodbye letter.

Not impossible that was alluding to Holiday floating retiring to spend more time with his family. The profile about how he wanted to extend coming out right before he was dealt absolutely adds new context to this stuff.

Or Giannis just wanted him to spend more time in the gym in general.

Jrue has stayed involved in the New Orleans community despite no longer being on the team. I suspect that's what he means by "Until next time." Gotta appreciate "Jrue Holiday the man" like John Hammond would say.

If Jrue goes to GSW gotta believe its "hasta la vista baby", basically home & a contender. I agree ^ on count of involvement with community, that was assumed.

Right. If Jrue goes to the Bulls he'll be paired with DeMar .imo.

Then Lauren gets to stay nearby, family doesn't have to move far.

I have a framed painting of the Giannis stare down into the camera after the valley oop. Absolutely iconic moment brought to us by champion, Jrue Holiday. He's a Buck forever.

Proud to see some of you take the conspiracies title away from me. But by many accounts Jrue would spend his days working out nonstop.

Doubt Lauren lets him slack at all, she's a gold medal athlete.

The only time he was really stepping away from basketball seems to be when she had her brain tumor.

If you could turn back time, would you choose to keep Jrue and trade Khash instead? I know I would...

Would pain me to see Jrue go to Chicago on account of Chicago being a whore.

Righteous man need not toil voluntarily in Babylon.
