Ok signing but let's hope Horst has something else brewing.

Disagree because I think they are much better/versatile than Beasley/Crowder.

Obviously hope there’s more but I don’t think it’s an apples to apples comparison at all.

They both might be marginally better but again, if you're asking one to start and both to play 22-25 + minutes then that makes me much less confident in this team.

Right now, we require significant improvement from 1-2 young guys and/or a trade in my view.

I don’t know, we won a title with guys like Pat, Donte, Bryn Forbes and PJ Tucker playing fairly significant playoff minutes. I don’t think it’s a stretch to argue that Wright/Prince are of the same caliber.

Prince and Wright are hopefully the Bucks versions of Derrick Jones and P.J. Washington. The Dallas pair were younger and more explosive but the Bucks pair are better shooters. I'd take Prince over Washington but Jones is s younger version of Wright defensive but Wright can actually run an offense as a back up pg.

The Bucks essentially ran an 8 man rotation that year that didn't include Donte or Bryn Forbes really. Not in any significant role at least.

That Bucks team was a lot more sound defensively. The NBA around the Bucks has also changed since then. Take the optimistic view, I'm not stopping you but we're living on a prayer if this is the extent of our off-season.

What other options were/are out there that would work within the tight space we’re working with?

I’d much rather roll with Wright/Prince than Crowder/Beasley.

Beasley had bright spots but Jae was just a disaster all around even in a limited role especially considering what was paid to get him.

Yeah he's not good but we're dumpster diving.

stuck at the 2nd apron and tapped out on moveable draft picks we will be unable to acquire players that can make us significantly better without moving guys that might make us significantly worse. thats the situation and there isnt another version of it.

however....the expectation that we may get better on the margins is reasonable and this offseason to me has been an A+ in that regard. both delon and prince are dynamite guys to come in via the vet min. both guys are near perfect fit imo

this season is going to come down to injuries and how far giannis and dame can carry us. the last thing on my mind is how we somehow have this gaping hole in the starting lineup we have to fill at the 2. stick anybody there if theyre playing hard and unselfishly for the team and have the tools to defend and hit an open shot. if somehow we need more then that puts the microscope on dame and giannis quite frankly

We don't know what other options were out there but I think everyone here was hoping for or expecting a trade for a starting caliber 2.

If your opinion is this team healthy with Wright/Prince instead of Crowder/Beasley is primed to legitimately compete for a championship, then great. Hold onto that. I'm skeptical.

Beasley was a fine microwave off the bench. He was just miscast as a starting 2 and a primary POA defender. But I'd be fine bringing him back in a more limited role as a bench scorer.

Jae was as washed as washed could be. He didn't offer us a damn thing. Two steps slow defensively. Couldn't hit a shot offensively. That trade turned out to be a terrible one from Horst.

It did but im assuming that we had to bid for Jae and that we weren't the only team who really valued him. Then he just couldn't stay on the court for whatever reason

That's why I want Gary Trent Jr to be the starting 2 guard

Wright is both a better fit and a better player than softy Trent Jr.

Prince is way better than Jae and Wright is better than Pat Bev so I don’t have a problem with the signings.

Beasley is fine for the grind of regular season. He's going to get on hot streaks and win a bunch of games. Problem with the postseason is it's too much of a gamble. If he is off, he is useless because he can't do anything else versus other NBA players.

I wouldn't be shocked if Pat Bev was back still.

I would be a little shocked. Especially, after his antics at the end of the season. Plus, I don't think him and Dame are on each others Christmas card lists.
