Look, we all wanna believe in the kid, but some of the stuff AJ was throwing up towards the hoop was absolutely brutal. Dude has zero touch on anything that isn't a catch and shoot jumper and there's probably a limit to how much he can actually improve there even with how young he is.

That being said, you guys also can't be stunned when we campaign for this roster to "get younger and more athletic" and this is what you end up with. I've remained adamant that none of these kids should be expected to do much of anything this season outside of soaking up garbage time. Even if AJ, Tyler Smith, Andre, and Livingston end up being decent NBA players, it's gonna be a rough process.

I don't think AJJ is going to Oshkosh, I don't think he should go to Oshkosh, he will be better served being on the parent team and he will get more regular season minutes than the other AJs.

Hard disagree. I think he needs reps, lots of them. Hes not going to get that in the regular season. He will be a big negative and unless hes a psychopath it will destroy his confidence. Hes just not even remotely ready.

Absolutely 100% agree this dude is light years away from getting any meaningfil minutes on the bucks. He needs repetition needs to spend alot if time working on his game.Getting sporatic mins on the bucks will absolutely not help him.He needs to go to the herd get his game mins in n learn how to finish how to shoot.Seen 5th grades with more touch than him

He'd get reps in Oshkosh, but I worry about the quality of the reps and the possibility the low-quality reps ossify into bad habits.

I am in no way indicating he's "ready" right now, but I think it's more likely to happen if he stays with the parent team and more likely to happen more quickly.

And I completely side with RS on his defensive acumen.

I'm hopeful by nature, so take all this with the appropriately sized lump of NaCl. No problem with the point you're making.

Other than that one summer league game, it has been a brutal thing to watch. He's got this speed/swagger thing you can't teach, but the rest of it is a mess.

I'd keep him with the regular club and see if he can be a 10th man to add some speed and pressure defense when appropriate.

That said, the early returns on our two draft picks doesn't feel great right now. The both look far more suited for AAU or NY2LA games than the NBA.

Him and Pat C (after a few practices together) already have a better pick and roll game together than Giannis and Dame; that should probably be embarassing.

AJJ's handles worries me. Yes, he is young but there is nothing nuanced about his game that I have seen. He needs to be in the D-league. Go get Fultz. He can't shoot but he can get downhill and distribute. He is also another guard that can defend both guard positions so he works well with Lillard.

Have you considered that the defenses aren't playing then the same?

I don't really care for Dame/ Giannis pick and rolls, because it allows the defense to completely sell out and send 4 guys at them, which forces someone else to shoot.

Giannis as the ball handler and Dame as the shooter should be our go to set.

Do you mean in and out triangle like Shaq/Kobe? I think that can work. But if Dame's man stays home then the same thing happens. Whoever's man leaves has to cash those in or swing it and maybe Dame/Giannis can get open in better position.

We don't need summer league. We don't need preseason. We don't need regular season. We just need to believe injuries and only injuries are the cause of losing --being beaten-- out of multiple titles in multiple years. So.
