Dame has shot 32%, 37%, and 35%, the 3 previous seasons, and is at 32% this year. There's no evidence that Dame at this age is still a top 3 point shooter. He also continues to commit ugly turnovers, and plays at way too slow off pace. I love it when Giannis brings the ball up, because we get into our actions quicker.

Yeah, we're fine with Dame, but we'd be fine with a bunch of other PGs too, guys who don't make anywhere near $48.7 million, and guys that aren't clearly in decline.

Even after one of his best games of the year, Dame's warts are evident.

It's more semantics than anything else, but I'd liken Dame's 3 point shooting to Trae Young's at this point. We know they're pretty great shooters but the shots they take are low percentage shots and in Dame's case, he's no longer hitting them at the outlier rate that he was for most of his career. For example, I think Dame is a much better shooter than Taurean Prince but I'd be surprised if he shoots a higher % from 3 than Prince this year.

Not for me.

How bad is he? The other night I had to choose between listening to him or Doris and I chose Doris.

I like how you conveniently went back 3 years, to his 29 game sample size covid season where he shot 32%, by far his career low. He is a career 37% 3pt shooter. This is a huge difference and anybody watching can tell he is due for positive regression. The ugly turnovers thing is just the exact same thing Khris haters say for someone who is very good at distributing "the turnovers are ugly" (btw can someone find me these fabled pretty turnovers) while his A/TO ratio is nearing 3:1. It's straight up dumb.

It's clear to everyone here that you can't have a fair discussion when talking about Dame. He has warts, duh, but it quickly gets old when you villainize his strengths as if they don't exist.

Yeah, watching Dame is crazy.. it's like he's not real..like a video game.. I'm like shocked when he misses anything when he's driving to the hoop. I've never seen a PG like this in a Bucks uni... those passes where he changed gears and blinked himself to the lane and found shooters were awesome.. he's really trying to be an assist dude.

You need to acknowledge that positive regression might not exist for 34 year old small guards. They haven't aged well, and it doesn’t look like Dame is the player to break the generalization.

The years when Dame's assists are up correlate to when his 3 pnt% is down.. I appreciate that self-awareness ... find ways to help the team when plan A isn't working as well as you want

Curry at his age 33 season shot a by far career low 38% from 3 (64 game sample size), he has bounced back and destroyed that number each season since. That was literally the first small guard I googled. No, the career 37% shooter didn't forget how to shoot. Positive regression does indeed exist, hallelujah

Lol... what are you talking about... just watch and enjoy.. the dude can do anything he wants.. noone can stop him from getting anywhere or getting any shot.. he had like 3 amazing alleyoops to GA.. that 1 hander was unreal.. his defense was awesome yesterday... he works out in the offseason like an animal, eats well.. in amazing shape.. makes everything look effortless.. he's our only real ball handling guard. This is what a big 3 member should be; let your boy know

If he can do anything he wants, any chance he could start playing defense or making 3s?

Completely alleyoops isn't amazing, Giannis is the best oop catcher ever. Ajax completes alleyoops with Giannis.

The guy that's amazing is Giannis. 32 ppg on 63TS%. Dame job is to get Giannis more shots, because Giannis is the more efficient scorer.

Dame set a couple of ghost screens for Giannis last night when Giannis had the ball at the top. More of that please, and maybe set the actual screen too, like Brook, Green, or Patty C.

Curry is completely different player, he's actually a catch and shoot player. Stylistically not the type of small guard that hasn't aged well.

What the regression for a 33 year old small forward coming of years of injuries and two ankle surgeries?

Did he look to be struggling in last years playoffs? Would you expect ankle arthroscopic clean outs to make his ankles worse?

Missing offseason workouts is never a positive, but Khris has been through it before. I'd expect him to look like himself come playoff time again.

Loved how Bobby played for most of the first half, then he started to regress to the ISO post ups on the block again. It's night and day how much more effective he is when he's providing spacing and putbacks instead of gobbling up possessions.

KOC should have never left the Ringer. Him and Verno had a good thing going there.

He’s becoming/become just another cheap hot take merchant. Unfortunately there aren’t many clicks in nuanced NBA analysis.

AJ Green locking up Mathurin and McConnell and causing Miles to make the O foul was seriously impressive

Dame has done well to be a bit self aware on his shooting. He’s definitely gotten more looks at the rim and that mid range jumper seems to never miss. We’ve also done a good job of having Giannis drive leading to open looks for dame bc the defense forgets that he’s dame. Think those are the only types of looks he’s made recently.

I'm pro-Bucks and what's best for our team. (defense, 3 point shooting, hustle, defer to the HOFs, etc)
