Really like how hard this team is playing already. Ball movement was great and they were firing a ton of 3s and they felt like good looks for the most part

Agree, we're 1 more playoff caliber wing away from being a contender.

My eyes remain focused on Quentin Grimes.

His ball control, burst, and decision making at the rim is much welcomed.

I see a lot of Andrew Nembhard in him. He just needs to get a little bit stronger over the years and hopefully refs will give him the benefit of the doubt as his defensive reputation develops.

I see a lot of George Hill in him. Similar height and length which helped them envelop guards defensively and hold their own against larger players. Similarly adept at finding creases to the hoop and finishing well around players.

If Rollins can develop the poise that Hill had, he’ll be a hell of a player. Ultimately, I think Rollins can be better. I think he flashes a little more self creation from outside that hill never had. I’m really excited to see him this year.

I really like the Anthony-Rollins bench combo so far. Having two ball handlers who also aren’t turnstiles on defense will be nice.

They could really establish a winning bench culture and I’m excited to see that.

Same his development could be a big reason Giannis signs that next extension. Hearing Giannis talk about him his face was a lit up with pride and he can see his potential. Our shooting was best in the league percentage wise if we can maintain that on increased shooting that will win us a lot of games Turner is just a better shooter than Brook.

Having more team speed this year was immediately apparent. Think Turner will have a big year and big role on this team.

Think we are a top 4 seed in the East if KPJ can consistently be a 2nd fiddle. Think we can compete deep into the playoffs if we can convert Kuzma and picks into a wing that can actually be a playoff contributor.

This is a good post. NBA media was saying we were shot after losing Dame, not getting Chris Paul, etc but in reality we're better off with Rollins getting the consistent minutes. I've been wanting that since beginning of last season, finally feel like it's here. Yeah, these guards are underrated and Dame was the opposite.

Quietly think Ajax had a nice showing in limited minutes today. Had better restraint when passing - nothing wild, but still quick processing. And showed a little assertiveness attacking the hoop.

I don’t trust his touch at all around the rim which is a major bummer, but him not shying away from the rim would be a big development. He looked more the part than Coffey.

I just wish Doc doesn’t **** this team.

KPJ/Green/GTJ/Giannis/Turner is our starting lineup.

Rollins/Anthony/Kuzma/Bobby round up the Top 9.

Let the rest of the roster fight for the 10th spot.

It’s as simple as that, but I still cannot trust Doc.

It’s really vindicating for the fans who said Dame was overrated and his production could be replaced with a bunch of scrappy young guys who also play defense.

I loved the Dame trade and the theory of having a player of Dame’s caliber to team up with Giannis. However, we’re probably much better off with a mobile young star big like Myles combined with our young scrappy rotation of guards.

I’m so happy Giannis didn’t ask out this summer because he’s going to be surprised with how good this team is going to be.

Agree, I had completely given up on him, but he's pulled me back in. He's defending again, he lost his defensive intensity mid way through last year, and is being less weird on offense.

Was there injuries, or is it notable that Smith and Livingston didn't get in?

Ya I was kinda disappointed no Livingston in this game I rather have him play then Coffey. We got enough 3 pt shooting so Coffey not really needed. So now final spots really will be interesting since Ajax back playing Pretty good.

I'd be looking at who's contract is easiest to cut. Smith and Liv not playing is a sign that they aren't expected to be needed anytime soon. For our team, anyone that's not automatic on open 3s and doesn't understand or play D isn't useful in the forseeable future. Whoever can't shoot, playoff NBA teams will make sure they have the ball in position to shoot the biggest shots and whoever can't play D will be forced into mismatches and beat constantly. Giannis will have midgets constantly around him when he has the ball and he'll be flipping it to wide open people. We need to hurt teams with that for this to work. There are guys coming into the league rotation ready every year; Liv and Smith should be worried about their careers at this point it's looking like the Marjon route.

I agree with this. Having Dame and Giannis need as many shots as they did also didn't help keep the other guys stay warmed up shooting. Also the defense helps everything work better overall with more rebounds, fast breaks, runs, etc.

Also it almost felt like Myles was doing more Dame things than Dame did with us. When Giannis would get Dame open shots he was so surprised to be open he often missed them almost like easy shots were harder for him than his difficult off balance shots. Plus with Myles you get that length, defense and more team oriented play. Dame maybe needed the old AI offense where everyone just screens, rebounds and defends for him but that wasn't happening with Giannis here.

Good to see the team actually let it fly with Giannis out there. You're not gonna hit 50% of your threes every game, but this is gonna have to be the offensive blueprint for this team. 18th in 3PT volume last season was unacceptable. Need to be in the Top-10 this year.
