I don't know how much soccer you guys want to pull into this, but the whole aspect of this squad 6 comes from supporters of soccer clubs. There's a ton of song out there and this list is huge. Not only are there around 100 club teams, but each team has many many songs. Just an idea of what they're doing in Europe.

That'd be awesome. You could bring pillows and those night cap things.

Anyway, its a war dance and only men can perform it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSYbt6rFh1c

Also, the haka itself is exclusive to New Zealand but some other islander nations have their own war dances too. There was an awesome one involving Samoa and some other team (can't remember the sport, might've been the league WC) where they both did their war dance at the same time and got up in each others faces.

Edit: I do have to say my original suggestion was completely tongue in cheek. It would be ridiculous for a bunch of people from Wisconsin performing the Haka to an uninterested portion of opposing teams fans.

I usually can come up with some pretty creative chants...I started a few during our bag revolt of course those were on the negative side so we wont talk about those as this is a positive thing and something that has the potential to make the Bucks game the cool place to go...much like the Brewers game is now...of course winning has helped with that as well. It has to be a spur of the moment type thing in some cases. My personal favorite and funniest chant ever was when the opposing teams fans were copying the Knicks fans with the "Fire Isiah chant" ...Way to kick a guy while he is down lol. I will be there this week and by you guys on Saturday to help anyway I can...in talking to JakeCronus he had asked me if I could pretend it was the playoffs in 2001 again...I had to question his friendship after he asked this. :D

You guys really should just follow the soccer type chants. Really cool. It'd almost be better if your section was half on one side and half on the other so you could do a call out and then answer and get people on both sides of the arena involved.

A couple of chants I like are:
- coming out of a timeout or deadball where you need a stop- before play starts everyone stand up and to the 'ole ole ole ole' tune just start singing 'stand up, stand up, stand up standup' and hopefully that gets people standing and once the opposition inbounds everyone just screams 'defence defence'. If you can get a whole heap of people standing and screaming that it's awesome
- also for games we're winning by a bit if there are opposition supporters in the crowd or if one of their players scores and acts confident or happy everyone just points to the scoreboard and screams 'scoreboard, scoreboard, scoreboard'. It is quite demoralising for them

Oh and that cool Haka vs tribal moment is this I think:

When my brother played college ball, the student section was primarily guys from England that came over to play soccer at the school. They had a different chant for every single player. Even the guys who never saw the court. They also made up songs and a ton of chants for the school, it was pretty awesome.

I know this was mentioned earlier, but I live a few hours away from Milwaukee and it isn't easy for me to get to Bucks games. But if I was able to find time to get to a game or two would it be possible for me to get a spot in S6?

Nah wasn't either of those, it was a while ago. Might look for it tomorrow. That second one is pretty cool.

tyland wrote:You could do one of the more common Aussie Football chants, which is fairly dynamic for each game. It is always sung when Collingwood plays and the refs are giving them some unfair calls:

'Same old Collingwood, always cheating' - Now it is sung slowly almost like a Gregorian chant. Sounds cool in big numbers. Could make it relevant by singing:

'Same all referees, always cheating' (this could put some pressure of the refs and prevent Skiles from getting a T)
Same all Knicks, always cheating'
Same all Kobe, always cheating'
and so on

Good call. I truly feel like when we started the "let them play" chant with about 5-6 min to go, it stopped the red carpet treatment the Pistons were getting to get to the line/ get them back into the game. I noticed atleast two non-calls that would/should have got them to the line late and the refs just let them play. I couldn't have envisioned a better outcome for the whole concept and keep the feedback coming.

Maybe we can have a "Brad Jennings" night where we all have Jennings jerseys/shirts on and wear paper Brad Pitt masks ;)

People will either get the joke, or they will think we are referencing what a "stud" of a player Jennings is :)

I'm with you on this one. Everyone should just keep it clean and if in doubt, just talk to the people around you before you act a fool. I think everyone policed each other well and there were only a few times people needed to be reminded. We plan on dancing all over the line with out crossing it. as you can tell, this is something we truly believe in and don't want to screw it up.

If you're looking for short songs to sing, you would make Andrew laugh if you sang a revised version of the Essendon club song (his football team). The song is here, I guarantee if he hears 100 people singing it loudly it'll make his day... it'd be easy enough to just change it to;

See the Bucks fly up, up!
To win the championship.
Our boys who play this grand old game,
Are always striving for glory and fame!
See the Bucks fly up, up,
The other teams they don't fear,
They all try their best,
But they can't get near,
As the Bucks fly up!

 I dont know that many people outside of a few would get it. But for that few it would be absolutely hilarious even if nobody else is laughing.

hehehe :) It isn't mine, it isn't mine- I'd like to think myself a tad more poetic! I just changed Bombers to bucks and premiership flag to championship. They ripped it off another song anyway, I'm sure.

at the home opener they had a different person announce each player, before that the person would say what their job was and how they work hard everyday (playing on the stupid work hard play hard theme, no gay steelworkers though) and the woman that did jennings called him Brad Jennings.

Looks like you have an important fan of that idea.

Message from our our fearless leader, Zak Grimm:
i'll be buying a few newspapers for saturday's game, and squad 6 will "read the paper" while the knicks are being announced...you can pass that along

I imagine they'll be taking a shot of that on the jumbotron for a few seconds, to draw attention to it and to goose the crowd into laughing at the Knicks.

Zak will be joining us here on RealGM shortly (as "zakgrim"), once his expedited user account activation process is complete.
