good players but if im making that deal im taking smart at 7.To me a parker and smart plus middleton at the 2 giannis at the 3 isn't bad,Though theres seem to be a hole at the center spot

I know a certain NBA Legend who could step in...

We've seen so much info out there that contradicts other info, I'm starting to feel like no source is really credible at this point.

man luke arnt u giving giannis alittle bit to much credit for his D saying that those 3 would be the best D frontcourt in the league u really believe that.

wuldnt it be nice for once to have a thumper at the center spot instead of a finesse player.Im tired of seeing our guys shoved into the 5th row and vonleh would be another one of those weakass centers who cant hold his ground against the bigger guys.\
If we get embiid I would love that trade with the lake show get smart to play point and maybe that SG from Washington with the 31st pick, hes a really good shooter

Agreed. I liked this from hypemaster Ford (who I'm buying what he's selling this year)

Matt (MA)

Julius Randle has the pedigree and tools to lead the NBA in scoring or rebounding in the future and he is the 7th best player in this draft? Is this draft really that good?

Chad Ford (1:47 PM)

Yes.

Smart doesn't need the ball to play D, especially when he is at SG next to Jimmer (under Nash's tutelage) :D

Man I would love Aaron Gordon at 7. I don't know how Giannis/Parker/Gordon would work out but you can figure that out. I used to be high on Vonleh but I'm not really a fan. If I had to make a top 10 it would look something like..

Embiid
Parker
Wiggins
Exum
Smart
Gordon
Randle
Saric
Vonleh
Nurkic

Flip a coin with Wiggins and Parker. I don't even care which one we draft anymore. I could see us taking Saric at that 7 spot too. Supposedly Hammond really liked him last year. If he wants to stay overseas for a year even better.

It would ultimately depend on would be available at 7, but I certainly would not deal our talented, expensive headache (Sanders) and Knight for that pick. Smart and Randle would probably be gone and I think going from Sanders/Knight to Vonleh or Gordon is a big step backwards.

If they want Henson/Ersan/filler, I'm all ears. Sanders and Knight I'd prefer to keep.

I'd agree that I'd prioritize the players at 7 with Smart, Randle, Vonleh, Gordon and feel less good about the trade as we progressed down that list. That said, I think someone in picks 5/6 are going to get all giddy about either Gordon or Vonleh and nab him there.

Besides, we want to take another step backwards next season--right?

Imagine our perimeter Defense if we could roll out a Perimeter Defense of Smart/Wiggins/Giannis o_O

Shooting might be a little shaky (although all 3 have the chance of further developing it) but we could super ock teams down

I think we'll be lottery again (maybe 6-11?) if the same cast of characters return. With that as the case, I'd rather have more trade chips and assets on our table (Knight/Sanders) for the next GM to work with. Knight/Sanders are more valuable to me than Vonleh or Gordon. Unless Larry Sanders kills someone or completely removes himself from asset classification, that will be my position. The league's analytical GMs are looking at Sanders defensive impact and they're just licking their chops waiting for Hammond to give SANDERS! away. No more dumb run-ins Larry. No more.

I saw somewhere that the Celtics are taking Gordon. You forgot Saric, though. 20 year old league MVP, does everything, sky high IQ.

Hoping Sanders has some value. Getting the #7 pick for him and Knight could be a fantastic deal for us -- especially since we would also likely get a dramatically better pick in next year's draft in addition.

The Lakers did very well for themselves trading for Artest and have that history of risky players And they have to take big risks if they are to get back towards championship contention in Kobe's twilight years.

Would prefer to deal Henson / Knight though, and I think Ford had mentioned something a few weeks back about how the Bucks weren't worried about Embiid and Sanders complimenting each other.

That said, bringing back Nash to make the Sanders / Knight salaries work would be pretty cool as well even if he'd only be able to play 20-40 games.

Not to mention, Smart is a terrible option to play next to Giannis.
