The inverse is more often true.

Outside shooting-advantage Knight
Attacking and finishing at the basket- advantage Bledsoe but both are good
Point guard skills-even (neither very good)
Defense-slight advantage Bledsoe (when he wants to play)
leadership skills-?
Competitve nature -advantage Knight
Health-Advantage Knight
Upside--advantage Knight because he's 2 years younger
Most experts claim that Bledsoe is not a true PG. The new owners said that the best way for the Bucks to build a good team is through the draft. I can not believe they would max out a guy who suffered a major injury.KidA24 wrote:BigO wrote:My eyeball test gives me this comparison:

You really should go get your eyes checked then.
Bledsoe is SO MUCH BETTER running the point than Knight, so much better going to the rim and finishing than Knight and is so much better at getting to the line than Knight. Also, Bledsoe is an amazing defender where as Knight is average at best.
Oh, he also shot 36% from 3 compared to Knight's 33% from 3 this season.

BigO wrote:Bledsoe is not a very good passer. He played on a team with a much better offense than the Bucks and yet his assists weren't much better than Knight. Knight was the main offensive weapon the Bucks and had to shoot a lot more than he should have. That won't be the case going forward. Bledsoe is an amazing defender? Even the Draft Express summary shows that isn't true.
You don't spend tons of money on someone who in his four years in the league has not shown anything close to greatness. His career totals show points per game at 8.7 and assists at 3.4. Not good for someone entering his fifth year.

I've decided I will take one for the team and befriend Mallory Edens so the board can have its new Buckpack.

@KBergCBS
Houston's Jeremy Lin trade still has not left the tarmac. Source says deal only goes in motion once Rockets secure free-agent commitment.

Of course I was happy. Getting Bledsoe would have killed our chances of a Top pick that we desperately needed. It is a similar but more extreme version of why I was happy we avoided Teague. We get Bledsoe we win 25 game and now have Julius Randle instead. If you want to look through my post history be my guest.
You seem to not understand what I am saying. I am not saying to only improve through the draft forever. However, you do not sabotage the process prematurely for some who will be starting to break down by the time our core hits it's prime. It is like baking a cake. You want to begin spreading the frosting before the cake has even risen.
Do you think Bledsoe is the only RFA we will have the chance to give a max offer to the next 4 years? Are those extra 10 wins that get us to 30 and then 35 the year after that meaningful to you. You are basically arguing Bledsoe + #11 or so pick is superior to Top 5 pick + any RFA the next 4 years.
We also will not even mention Bledsoe returning from a devastating injury that at minimum is a significant red flag.
so if wolters, middleton, and miroslav develop into max level restricted free agents in the next year then that is a bad thing and we should let them walk. we will be simply improving too fast for it to be the proper way to rebuild. youre saying we dont want good players unless its our own top 5 picks. of course thats with the exception of giannis..... he doesnt count for some reason. gotcha.
selectively rooting against the improvement or acquisition of top young talent may be the most ass backwards way to develop a team ive ever heard but at least im clear on your thought process moving forward.

Can someone explain, and hopefully link me to the post/thread that all went down in? Thanks!

It would depend what level of max players they are. If Wolters and Miroslav turn into Magic Johnson and Shaq level max players then I would even consider trading Giannis/Parker to build an immediate title favorite. By contrast if it is more at the Gordon Hayward/Greg Monroe level max I would rather trade them than tie up max money.
If we sign Bledsoe what do you think our chances are of winning a Title before his deal expires? 0%, .00000001%? Bledsoe would have to become Jordan 2.0. Once a 4 year contract expires, Bledsoe will likely have 1-2 years left until he breaks down (assuming his knees do not get injured more until then). If Bledsoe was a Ray Allen type amazing shooter i would feel more confident in his 30 and above prospects. However, wings who rely on athleticism age poorly.
Everything we do should focus on creating a Title Contender from 2018-2028. Bledsoe does not fit that long term window
