A trade to get us under the tax and really raise my curiosity for this season.

Bucks: Bamba, Monk and Bridges
Magic: Wilson and DDV
Hornets: Lopez

Report in the Athletic today says the Bucks aren't interested.

Thank God, they're not making the unnecessary panic trade that leads to implosion.

In other news, they should've never let Wood go. Just tell him to wait for his time to come & held on.

Amen to all this! Not gonna lie, watching the Wood highlights tonight was ALMOST as bad as seeing a lifetime of Dirk vs. the late Tractor Traylor comparisons. Cannot believe the Bucks let Wood go. New age big men like that don't grow on trees. If we have 2020 Christian Wood on this team, I think we win the title.

Putting aside the Bledsoe/Jrue debate.

Did we become a better shooting team for the playoffs when teams build a wall in front of Giannis?

Giannis and Middleton are the same, Jrue only has to match RS Bledsoe to be an upgrade.

DDV and Patty C look the same in very limited minutes so far.

The rookies seem to both have a nice shot in extremely limited minutes (you hope one of them can give u 5 minutes of flame throwing in the post season).

Forbes? DJA?

Is it enough to overcome the blah offense we see the last two post season runs?

The wall is and always has been our players decision making against good defense. Whether that be Bled, Giannis or literally anyone else. The wall was never created because of shooting or lack of.

Are we better at decision making? Jrue is a definite yes. But beyond that?

In terms of 3pt shooting, the team has upgraded from last season.

Augustin and Forbes are very good 3pt shooters, Portis is a good 3pt shooter. Jrue is a better 3pt shooter than Bledsoe. The rookies look like good 3pt shooters. Wilson's 3pt shooting in preseason looks good, I expect him to be a lot better 3pt shooter this season.

Time will tell I suppose. I think it largely starts with Giannis and Bud though. Giannis simply needs to get better at reading what the defense gives him as opposed to running head down and trying to create and Bud needs to put him in better positions to not have to do that. I don't think Jrue is a particular great decision maker that changes a ton.

They've won a sh*t ton with him being one of the best defenders in the league.

Wonder if the coach who made that happen could find a way to do it with a cheaper and younger player capable of not getting played off the court against teams that will target his slow feet?

Can't believe we let Christian Wood get away (even as an asset) because Sky Smith and the con-artists convinced a naive FO that Thon was 19.

The wall is irrelevant if we put Giannis at the elbow. It works.

Yeah the Hornets aren't looking to get old.

Also, as much as I like Bamba longterm, he's still having breathing issues from Covid. It would be kind awkward to be trying to win the title going into the year with only Bobby Portis at center.

Maker was dealt before Wood was released.

I like Wood, but he did force his way out. I would have loved to bring him back though, that's where the mistake was.

Feels like Wood is one of those high calorie stats guys, that needs to be on a bad team with a green light. Have a hard time believing our front office and Bud didn’t concur on that. But we’ll see what he does in Houston.

Diakite is on a two-way deal so I think he’s safe.

Yup, 14 man roster plus Adams and Diakite on 2 way deals.

Wood was always pretty clearly an NBA player imo, he was an aggressive scorer kind of like Portis is now. I don’t know if there was any way to keep and develop him further but I saw the talent.

He’s also a big part of the reason why we’ve gotten smoked in the playoffs the last 2 years almost as big as Bledsoe not showing up. I think Bud’s system would benefit more from somebody who could more consistently shoot and not be destroyed on switches, there are cheaper younger guys who can do the same things. how much would we be losing if Brook was replaced with someone like Luke Kornet or Frank Kaminsky? Point isn’t one of those 2 guys, it’s just the that Brook isn’t much better if at all over replacement players and is the biggest glaring weakness on the team.
