PJ is a sensitive dude as shown with the Rockets. I think six months of PJ worked perfectly. I'm moving on with other guys taking his minutes, and I expect we do better. PJ's money going to Grayson couldn't make any more sense given Donte's injury.

That said I'm curious what Bobby thinks considering the sacrifice he made to come back.
On the flipside ownership could have paid Tucker as well as Grayson Allen and whoever else.
Pat Riley's comments make me think PJ might have some gas left in the tank as well.
Tucker declined to discuss the offer he received from the Bucks in free agency. “I was pretty surprised,” Tucker said of not ending up back with the Bucks. “You win a championship and you’re part of winning something special like that, you would expect that. A chance of it not happening? There’s a chance. It didn’t happen. Does it happen a lot? I don’t think so, not in that situation, not in those situations. You watch role guys in series in the past, usually those guys go back. So I’ll take my situation as just that, a particular situation. I move on from it and keep it going.”
“He’s three times more than what I thought he was. He just is,” Heat president Pat Riley said of Tucker on Tuesday. “If I wanted to put on a defensive clinic, I would probably use him as an example on how to close out, how to get in a stance, how to slide your feet, how to stay in a play when you’re beat, how to get over a pick, how to communicate and talk. These are just on the defensive end, and how to blitz, switch and those kind of things.
“Then on the offensive end, he’s like a heat-seeking missile as a screener to try to get Duncan [Robinson] and Tyler [Herro] open. He’s one of the most unselfish players that I’ve ever been around from that context. He just wants to win. He’s going to do what he can do to help win.”

Random: I was playing around looking at nba salary's. Lebron only has this year and next year left. Has there been any talk about an extension? I don't think there is a cap benefit for him to wait to sign since his cap hold is $50m (if im looking at it correctly). Maybe LBJ wants the flexibility, but I also see him as a guy that says I kept the Lakers relevant and brought AD; give me a 2yr/$100m extension before I break down.

I bet Portis and Tucker talked about taking less money to run it back but Tucker didn't like the offer the Bucks made while Portis took his asap.

Embiid has been patient so far but who knows how long that will hold.

Scotto: I expect more of the same behavior from Ben Simmons. He’s come this far with wanting out of Philadelphia. There’s no reason for him to turn back now. To me, it’s a different version of the James Harden saga from last year. From Philadelphia’s perspective, they’re not trying to move Simmons for a guy like CJ McCollum or solid players at the moment. One league source told me trade talks regarding Simmons have been quiet to this point. Philadelphia still wants him back, and they think he’s their best chance of winning right now, but clearly, Joel Embiid is over it. He was talking about how they can’t be “babysitting” someone. They’ve never been that tight, so I can see now how Embiid is done with this.

I'm going to repeat this hot take I've been beating for a couple of years now: Jaylen Brown is better than Jayson Tatum

That would be terrible for us because Tatum is really good. Luckily everything around them is still whatever and their owners are being cheap for the moment but they will be good again soon.

It’s working now, not sure what was going on.

I’ve been on this island too my friend and I’ll die on it! He scores more efficiently and with less effort and (at least from an untrained eye test) seems to give more consistent effort and energy on defense than Tatum.

Tough, smart, long roster with juuuuust enough shotmaking. Plus OG looks like he might be about to take a major step. I think they're right there with Miami once Siakam comes back.

Raptors board on fire. Game 1
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I love Jaylen Brown and have been on his bandwagon since pre-draft. I'm not sure I agree with this (maybe), but I love the energy

My hesitation is that I'm not sure he can be the alpha dog on a champion. I'm definitely not sure Tatum can either, but I think we've seen more of it from him than Brown to this point.

LaMelo's got 31/8/6 with 7 threes
High usage for sure, but he's coming to play.

This is me as the OG hype train commander.

Nah, Riley hasn't had a clue for awhile. Tucker is complete toast. Riley is very lucky to work for a great ownership group. Without the endless salary, they'd be the dregs of the league.

Agree. OG is a perfect example of continuous player development. He'll become a perennial all star.

Re: ATL - 2021-22 Regular Season Begins
34 on 17 shots for Lavine in a game where offense was stuck in the 90's is pretty pretty pretty good.
