Re: ATL - Suns Implode
The Heat win the last two games with two 37y PJ Tuckers instead of just one.
Terrible mistake by our front office.

Bud and Spo really can't be compared here considering:
*Jimmy clearly hurt
*Lowry clearly hurt
*Herro out
*Giannis >>> their whole team
*Jrue>>Bam

Miami desperately need Bam's game 3 to not be the outlier.

Everyone clowns Gobert but Bam deserves some real criticism now too. We solved him last year, he was suspect as soon as Embiid returned in the Philly series, and has struggled against Timelord. He’ll be making $34mil/yr over the next 4 seasons, what he’s bringing just won’t cut it at that price.

I think everybody would agree that spo is clearly a better coach than Bud and it’s not about comparing the two, it’s just that they’re both running into the same problems against a better/healthier team but one gets called a terrible coach while the other gets another pass for the millionth time.
Also Jrue and bam are in the same tier.

Boston's chip to lose.

Was mostly tongue in cheek to MD's post about Spo's adjustments.
Jrue is a tier above Bam as a Playoff performer.

Re: ATL - Suns Implode
Talking about what is Doncic position in Giannis thread. So will move that here.
We can call Luka Point Forward. But he is not guard for sure.
6-7 230lb and "defend" forwards because guards are too fast for him. (He mostly just stay at weak-side and then looks to get defensive rebound as his main priority).
I know that media wants to make him combination of Bird and Magic. Big white hope like Bird (one of nicknames "Luka Legend") but tall PG like Magic (one of nicknames "Luka Magic").
Magic Johnson played with small SG Byron Scott (6-3) because someone had to defend quick point guards and Magic was not going to do that. Also combo guard Cooper (6-5) coming from bench.
Luka also now play with small SG Brunson (6-1) and small SF Bullock (6-6) who are basicly PG and SG at defense. Also combo guard Dinwiddie (6-5) from bench. Luka is really SF with ball in his hands to create at offense. So yeah, point forward. He is point guard as much as Lebron was point guard in his best years.
If NBA calls him forward (as they should) he would be forward in All-NBA 1st team moving Tatum to All-NBA 2nd team and Curry or Morant at guard position in All-NBA 1st team.

This was my thought re: Carter also. No, he’s not stopping Tatum once he’s on his hip in the mid post. No he’s not able to challenge a Brown three on a rotation. But neither could George Hill.
But… all of Brown, Tatum, and Smart are mediocre, at best ball handlers. Put Carter on whoever is bringing it up to harass them and alter the flow of the Boston offense/delay them getting into their sets/create a TO or two.
Boston already plays very slow in their halfcourt. Delay them an extra 3-4 seconds in the backcourt and suddenly a handful of those scramble bailout threes become shot clock violations.
Just bizarre he wasn’t used after a good game 1.
Please reconsider your animal consumption.

God I do not want Boston to win the finals. I don’t think they will, it’s Golden States to lose. Boston has won many games because of teams inability to hit ANYTHING.
Yes, their defense deserves credit. But not all of it.

Re: ATL - Suns Implode
I get why Brooklyn would at least be playing hardball with Kyrie.
That extension could easily enter Westbrook / Wall territory. He’s already got a ring and has significant commitment issues even before his athleticism wanes, not to mention the cray cray factor.
Simmons has hardly inspired confidence either. He might do best on a team with very limited expectations as opposed to that franchise fooling itself into believing he’ll be the missing piece.
If Durant isn’t so committed to the Nets they could be in a much worse spot trading him later than cutting the cord now.

Please just continue the Warriors dynasty at this point. They already have a bunch of rings - who cares if they get another.

I don't think the Warriors are that good and I don't think the Finals will be close, either.

Celtics beat a Nets team without Simmons, Bucks team without Middleton, and a (assuming they win this series) Heat team without Herro. When does everyone start giving them crap about an asterisk next to their Finals run? Or is it just Milwaukee and Phoenix that happens to?

Re: ATL - Suns Implode
When is Pat Riley going to retire btw? I don't think it'll matter too much because he's got such a good staff there and they'll have continuity, but the basketball world's most prominent George W. Bush fanatic is 77 years young. I wonder how much he works.

I think the answer is that only Nets fans do this for the Bucks and only Bucks and Heat fans will do this for the Celtics.
