I really liked this season of Reacher ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Yeah, Reacher was great. Don't know what more you could have wanted.

Spoiler:
Them gunning down the pretentious British arms dealer villain at the end was perfect. It's a perfect example of how the show is both a deconstruction/satire of action movie cliches while still being fun. Building him up as this badass assassin all season only to get immediately outsmarted and killed the second he encounters the team was *chef's kiss*. Immensely satisfying.

Another one I'm having trouble getting into for whatever reason.

I was laughing and shaking my head at the absurdness of the plane scene. This season was fun.

My wife and I have never seen it. I still am not watching but it’s her new show to watch when I’m not around. I’ve caught a few scenes here and there but she seems to be enjoying it immensely.

I did too. Don't get me wrong, I love movies/shows with a theme, subtext, underlying message etc. But I also like it when people simply kick some ass and solve a mystery.

My only qualm is that I would have liked a few more seasons of him wandering the earth by himself before we got to a season of "getting the gang back together". That seems like something that should have happened later...or at the very least a few seasons of him reconnecting with them one by one and then a big reunion.

Spoiler:
I think that would have made the deaths of their teammates more impactful
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Yea, that's what I meant about the lack of fun. Season one was great because he was this lone terminator subverting expectations. It lead to a lot of funny moments. This season didn't have any of the humor and he was just another member of the team. It wasn't a bad season, it just wasn't nearly as good as the first.

Watched the first episode on Amazon prime. Good, not great, but it made me want to keep watching
Why should you go to jail for a crime someone else noticed? You don't need double talk... You need Bob Loblaw.

Watching season 2 of Reacher now - how does this sasquatch buy clothes off the rack everywhere he goes?

TD: Night Country episode 1 was a banger (outside of the bad CGI in the intro scene). Very excited to see where this goes. Also rewatching Tokyo Vice S1, and it's even better the second time.

Finally got around to watching E1 of TD. I liked it well enough to keep watching. This season only has 6 episodes.

Watched True Detective premiere.

Feels more like The Outsider than True Detective. I thought it was pretty good though. I'll keep going with it.

Edit: I see I wrote pretty much exactly what MD did.

Further edit: I see Harold brought up the Outsider too, so I have no original thoughts, thanks for reading.

Not too many things annoy me more than when people hold up Walter White as the best and most complex anti-hero in the history of dramatic television.

Perhaps, within this Reacher universe, there's a chain of big 'n' tall thrift shops?

The interwebs lists him at 6’2” 230lbs? Maybe he just looks huge because the typical hollywood male is 5’6” 140lbs?

I think it's because people relate to "everyman" straight-laced Walter much more than they related to mob boss Tony. They found his behavior more "complex" because they saw a guy dying of cancer and trying to make money for his family, and they found that framework sympathetic even as Walter's actions became more despicable and self-serving. With Tony, the guy was a philanderer and a criminal with violent and destructive tendencies operating in a world that the average person cannot relate to. Obviously, Tony had a lot of depth to his character, but it was easier for the average person to dismiss him than it was to dismiss Walter.

Restarted Halt and Catch Fire after probably like 4 or 5 years. Such a great show.

Yeah, I flipped it on HBO one evening when it was in the middle of Season 2. I watched a couple episodes, and noticed that my wife had turned her attention away from the book she was reading to watch it, and was also surprised to see how into it she was with so much cringe-worthy content. We fired up HBO Max and started from the beginning.
