If Giannis leaves it’s because whoever **** edited this thread called his girlfriend Maria.

Here is your primer on marital relationships and free agency with the birth of his first child.

-the School right now is not relevant. You need to wait until the child is at least 3 or 4 years old before they even think about that. That couple right now is nervously sorting out how to handle a third person being added to their relationship.

-University School in Milwaukee is only a couple miles from his house. That's the school where super wealthy send their kids. Unless Giannis is troubled that Mike Dunleavy, Jr.went there, that school will work well. Many pro athletes have sent their kids there. Liam will always attend a secure private school, until it is determined that he needs to go to a basketball factory school (like Bronny). But we've got at least a ten-year runway on even needing to think about that.

-The bigger challenge is Mariah's mother. Her parents live in Fresno, CA. When the child is born, the mother of the woman always takes precedence in the relationship. California is a long way from Milwaukee. Give Golden State a small 2021 chit here. Fresno though is still 186 miles from SF. Bucks need to recruit Mariah's parents to move to MKE.

-The other wildcard is how active Giannis mother will be with the grandchild, and would she want to ever relocate? Hoping that she likes Milwaukee. Again, the woman's mother wins these, but if Veronica holds her ground, it helps.

-Final item is how long this relationship lasts. They aren't married yet. You'd think Giannis is going to be a great dad and very active, maybe they get married in the near future. Then again he's only 25 and I'm sure women are throwing themselves all over him right now.

Wisconsin has great private schools, that shouldn't be an issue.

I saw that as well. Does Giannis also have an apartment downtown? I know he bought that house in River Hills a while back from Mirza.

I love you for this. It's the kind of analysis that one can't get anywhere else. Impeccable work, PP.

I hate to dive too deep into Giannis's personal life...BUT, I always assumed Giannis met Mariah here in Milwaukee and her family was from here...Was that wrong? Any idea how they met? I had thought that was a huge point in WI's favor having Mariah's family here. Now I'm scared.

I would doubt Giannis would go the "traditional" route of allowing jersey chasers access to him. I see him as a family man and see them getting married soon.

It's interesting because Giannis is the primary breadwinner and the dude is making a lot of keesh. He has a lot of 'hand' in the relationship. Mariah will be happy as long as Giannis and her are living on their own and Giannis mum has zero influence in their relationship. This is possible in Milwaukee, though if Giannis mum is intervening to the point that Mariah is unhappy, she will ask Giannis for them to relocate. In other words, put some considerable distance b/n Giannis and his mum. Happens all the time. The irony is that a woman is less likely to have issues with her own mother 'getting involved' and she gets her dude to follow suit. Now if Mariah simply just wants to move back home, Giannis can still play in the NBA. GS indeed have a chance. Giannis is a loyal dude but his family takes priority and now he has a new family. BTW, I don't think Giannis succumbs to those IG thots. The loyalty comes into play again but even before he met Mariah, the dude just focused on getting better as opposed to wasting his time chasing thots.

Other smaller factors on the personal side of things...

Is Thanasis still on the Bucks? It's pretty cool to spend the entire season with your brother on the team, and the potential of playing together.

Where does Alex go to University? Is he staying local at UW-Milwaukee or Madison or Marquette?

The more roots in Milwaukee like his mom, Thanasis and Alex, the better. His GF seems to be a great fit because she's part of the family, and seems to get along mum and the boys. Doubt she would have lasted this long if there was a riff. HE has more leverage at this point.

Relationships do change, and as she gets a ring and they become a family of their own, a family of 3, then her leverage does increase, and her voice about, "OUR FAMILY" can change things to Giannis initial definition of family. I don't see it as an issue in the upcoming extension, maybe the second one.

Im assuming Giannis is making close to 50 million a year. If he wants to stay in Milwaukee then they will stay. You guys are seriously over thinking things lol

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/28492101/how-bucks-got-giannis-antetokounmpo-ready-being-first-father
"There's a lot of things that I've turned down. I've turned down movies, commercials, endorsement deals this year because I really don't care. I just want to win. I want to help my teammates win. I want to help this city, bring a championship to this city."

Giannis doesn't seem to care that much about money so I'm not sure the fact that the Bucks can offer him the biggest contract is going to make a difference. One thing Giannis has repeatedly said is he wants to bring a championship to this city. I don't think any of us would be mad if the Bucks won a championship this season and then Giannis left to live in a warmer climate with his Californian girlfriend and Nigerian mother.
