In order for Reddish to be consistent he needs playing time, can't really see that happening with the bucks.

I'm not missing that. I've read multiple articles stating that despite that he's a non-bird RFA. I don't know exactly how it works, but I wouldn't be surprised if bird rights from one two way to another don't carry over (he first signed for 2 years, then for 1). And besides that, the Clippers are just as hard against the tax as we are. They could make a business decision to let him go, too.

I'm fairly certain here. Bird rights accrue in the same fashion as standard NBA contracts. Ie. Three service years equals three bird years and full rights. The same would be true about a player on a standard contract signing a two year deal and then returning on a one year deal with a team. They carry over in the same manner and the conversion from two way to standard is inconsequential.

Not saying they won't let him go regardless.

I could see this case being buried somewhere in the fine print. He's also hitting RFA for a second time. I know two way contracts count towards bird rights and years in the league, but maybe consecutive two ways with the same team don't? Otherwise could also be that multiple articles are wrong or one copied from another.

Reddish is also expensive. Due to being a high pick he will make more money than his play warrants and his QO will most likely be declined eventually. I see no upside.

NYK out: Fournier, Reddish, Grimes, McBride, WAS '23 1st, DET '23 1st, DAL '23 1st
NYK in: Murray, MKE '23 2nd, GSW '23 2nd, PDX '24 2nd, MKE '24 2nd

SAS out: Murray
SAS in: Fournier, Hill, WAS '23 1st, DET '23 1st, DAL '23 1st, MKE '24 1st, IND '25 2nd

NOP out: MKE '24 1st
NOP in: Reddish

Holiday / McBride

I don't think Reddish is worth a first. From any team. NOP nopes out real quick.

I disagree. I think Griff would do it. They have so many future picks and Reddish is a big wing with a history with Zion.

It's pretty irrelevant to the overall deal though. Knicks will pay whatever to get Dejounte, we just sneak in for Grimes and McBride.

I mean Cam was just traded for a heavily protected CHA 1ST that may become 2nds (and they got a SRP in return, too). First off, if NOP wanted him, they would have beaten that offer. Secondly, Cam was buried on the bunch after the trade, there's no way he still holds similar value (also we own the MKE 1ST in 2024, you probably mean the 2023 one?).

Cam not cracking the rotation with Hawks or Knicks is pretty weird

That's fair. I think NOP had a shift in direction since that deal went down, as they were competitive without Zion and made the McCollum trade. Maybe they send 2nds instead and absorb Reddish, deal still works fine.

As far as the pick, NOP has our '24 1st swap rights according to RealGM's future picks page. So, in reality they would probably be sending their own. '23 1st is in Houston's possession, IIRC.

Well since it’s KD for a lottery protected pick then I’m in

Yup, because there's actually no players in between KD and the G Leaguers.

I’m just saying it would have to be that level of a win to give me interest in trading a pick 7 years out.

So like I’d be hesitant to do this deal. Allen, Hill, MarJon, top 15 protected pick for Dejounte, Keldon, and Vassell.

I still Gobert is highest upside move we could make (also considerable downsight) but if we're giving up a lot of 3's that also means a lot of missed shots and lots of long rebounds to be fought over. Would like to prioritize rebounding guards/wings.

The start of this list marks a time the NBA had half the salary cap. Bogut was the second highest paid player on that team, Splitter third, Thompson 4th (2 million behind Irving, only 8 behind LeBron).

I still haven't found a trade that works for all teams involved, but a deal where our side looks like this:

MIL out: Middleton, Lopez
MIL in: Gobert, Brooks/Hart

makes us better imo.

That is significantly under value and I would accept him receiving Haslem treatment for some time later.

I’m guessing he ends up getting more than we can offer, but Fischer mentions that Lonnie Walker is likely leaving the Spurs. He’d be my first call for the TPMLE I think.

4 for $40 million or so for Bobby would be fantastic.

But also the start of an era where having a good center became less important.
