Chris Quinn or Nick Nurse. Monty might be alright but I wouldn't be very excited about it.

Basically any coach that is willing to make at least 1-3 adjustments during a game will be better than Bud come playoff time. Bud is one of the most overrated coaches of all-time, completely carried by his players. The worst game management in the entire NBA when it comes to adjustments/matchups/rotations. Absolutely thrilled that he is gone and there's at least some semblance of hope for next season.

I wouldn't hate Monty (because you have to assume whoever we hire, Giannis is 100% on board with and/or clamoring for), but I'd rather have Charles Lee

I take that if all it takes is giving up Middleton....and actually the Suns might be willing to give up picks just to unload CP3 which we need.

Jrue/CP3 backcourt would be nice....of course you worry about CP3 breaking down in the postseason, but I am taking that chance.

Jrue, CP3, Marjon, Giannis, Lopez

Anyway we can bring in a Torrey Craig or George Niang to add some more 3 point shooters would be nice but probably impossible with the new cap, and I question if Crowder would want to play for Monty again.

It's all about getting someone Giannis would respect and look up to. And Giannis isn't just into the x's and o's. High character needed.

If Monty means Giannis later signs an extension, versus Nurse pissing him off, I'm going with Monty.

Respects and will respond to being pushed by. He’s the player in the world but with some obvious flaws, some of which he should be able to improve with the proper motivator. If he’s serious about winning another ring, he’s got some stuff he should work on.

I assume because it's the obvious choice...didn't expect it to be so far skewed due to Chris Quinn.

Kevin Young would be interesting. Don’t know much about him other than I like his age and short coaching resume.. I also forgot all about Jerry Stackhouse, I’d like to see him get an interview if he’s interested. He’s deserving…

Young's coached under Brett Brown and Monty Williams. *shrugs*

Kevin Young's been one of the top assistant names for the past 2 years. Definitely towards the top of my list, along with Quinn and Lee (for the people we've interviewed)

And Nick Nurse coached under Dwane Casey. All assistants have to start somewhere, doesn't mean they share every last philosophy.

PHX has no first round picks they can trade per the Stepien rule. They gave up four of them to the Nets in staggered years.

Interesting. Gambo used to be pretty dialed in but it was also rumored Sarver (or someone close to him) was his best source so who knows now days.

Maybe Nurse to the Bucks is in the works. Or there's some real dirt on Nick we don't know that's scaring teams away.

Plus Phoenix can just stretch Paul if they want off him and it would only cost the $5mil in dead money for the next 3 years. He only has $15 mil guaranteed this season and none guaranteed next year.

I actually think that might happen and CP will sign someplace for the MLE.

Nurse was a known guy years before he even caught on with Casey because of what he did with Rio Grande Valley. The Raptors fired Casey specifically because everyone knew Nurse was about to get a HC job and they couldn't let him walk out the door. Honest question, is that the same thing with Young? Because I don't recall ever hearing about him. I suppose if he gets the Phoenix job we have the answer.

This is a classic take where fans think they actually know jack **** about the NBA when they don’t.

Nurse was hired as Casey's assistant in 2013, I don't ever remember him being a HC candidate from 2013-2017 or someone super sought after, maybe I just wasn't following close enough though.

His 6 years coaching in the G-League was impressive, but ultimately he was Casey's assistant for 5 years before finally getting the job, at 48 years old. Wasn't like he was some prodigy every team was waiting to get their hands on.

I'm saying he was and I'm surprised you don't remember it. When he was hired in Toronto it was a big deal, and immediately he was credited for Toronto's success. They went from a 34 win team to a 48 win team. Their offensive rating took off. Nurse was a legit prodigy.

Suns need that salary slot. Same issue as the Bucks with Middleton.

Not really interested in Kevin Young. If we were in a different spot in our franchise I'd be more open to him.
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"
