Yes

A coach can pull the correct levers and still lose. Sometimes there aren't enough levers. But these last two seasons we've had a coach who was so obviously pulling the wrong levers.

Atkinson was awful in this years playoffs, and Bud was the worst coach in the NBA by a wide margin this year. He may have been trying to get fired.

There's a lot of variables that go into analyzing a coach-talent, injuries, competition and more.

I differ with some of you here on Bud, but I think we almost all agree Doc is a bad coach (despite winning a champioship just like Bud) and Spoelstra is at the top. I think most of us can explain why.

How does Bud win 60 games with that Hawks team?

Bud was a heck of a coach back when he used to do the work. Back when his teams actually practiced, players developed. He was once tight with his players.

Now, they don't practice, he won't meet with players, and every player has his worst season playing for Bud. He won a title, and then quit.

Unhappy with his status with the Phoenix Suns, center Jusuf Nurkic said he hasn't spoken with coach Mike Budenholzer in two months, going so far as to say the two "don't have a relationship."

Nurkic, who started 23 games this season before being moved to the bench earlier this month, has not played since Jan. 7. He said Budenholzer didn't tell him he would sit out a Jan. 9 game against the Atlanta Hawks, and Saturday's 119-109 win over the Washington Wizards marked the ninth consecutive game he has missed.

"We don't have a relationship," Nurkic said of Budenholzer, according to the Arizona Republic. "So, it's fine. For me, just be a pro and do the best I can. Work and stay ready for whatever might be, but there is no chaos or bringing that to this team. They already have plenty of it. Trying to be as professional as I can and work my ass off for something else."

Nuric averaged a double/double under Vogel. Benching him was certainly Bud's prerogative but it's odd that he didn't play at all for a month before he was traded. And then there is the line about the team having plenty of chaos already

Giannis needed a player with the characteristics of Khris, smooth scorer from mid range and far, and solid in defense and a good passer. Can anyone think of a Khris like player whom we can possibly get?

I've gone over this before, so I don't want to open a can of worms. There are a lot of things that go into a team's record, including how good the competition was that year, your team's talent, etc.

To repeat what I said a few years ago: when Bud was in Atlanta he had three all-stars on that team. Not great players, but at the time they were considered very good players (Milsap, Horford, Korver) in their prime.

I know the counter arguments, like he made those three all-stars, so let's not belabor it.

I will sayIi never bought the argument that head coaches deserve credit for developing players. I don't buy that Kidd developed Giannis into a point
forward (he would have ended up there anyway).

Have been wondering if the NBA care about this kinda thing at all? Logic says probably not.

Regular season games always start 10 minutes after the advertised start time. ABC/ESPN goes slightly more than that but fans should be used to it.

Wolves winning game 3 at home isn't a surprise. But this score sure is.

Reminds me of the game we beat Miami in the 23 playoffs where we couldn't miss

I had wanted us to take Jovic in the draft. We didn’t. He dropped to Miami. Our choice turned out to be useless.
