To me the best pick up would be Bertans......perhaps he could fill the role that Mirotic failed to fill last year, doubt you’d have to give up much for him.

DJ Wilson, Wes, and a 2nd would get it done i think. But I really dont think we should be trading DJ. We should be extending him and DDV when we can.
Have you heard of salary matching?

Yea that one isn't even close to matching. Could do Ersan, Bender, Wes for JJ.

I have nothing against and nor do I know much. But he's another PF type where we have so many already. You'd have to trade Ersan for him. But Bertans is a FA and I'd assume gone in the offseason whereas as Ersan we'd still have for one more and cheap, plus he'd still be an expiring contract next year for a trade. My question is, does Bertans do OK on the hustle/rebounding/D tough guy stuff like Ersan does? Or is he stereotype of a Euro stretch big. I was pleasantly surprised by how much Mirotic tried on this stuff vs the reputation I had of him before we got him.
Second question would be is the potential upgrade from Ersan really worth other assets, like is it thaaat much of an upgrade. I'm sure he's a quicker better shooter and all that but I think you know what I'm getting at.

Redick didn't like playing next to Monta and Jennings in a contract year. Like you wouldn't bad mouth the situation either. The hate he gets here is ridiculous.
I'd add him but would prefer a better defender if possible.

Would the Bucks consider trading the Pacers first for Redick?
That seems like the biggest question to start.
That and whether we would include Donte. I don’t think we would and am not sure if we’d have to — provided New Orleans is getting a solid first.

Robin Lopez + DJ + Wes (+ picks of some kind) for Redick also would work under the cap.
Would New Orleans value Wilson?
I don’t think we’d trade him as well as Ersan since we’d be so thin behind Giannis.
We know Bud loves Ilyasova...if Robin Lopez is mostly a marketing gimmick maybe he ends up the one out.

probably wouldn't get anywhere in talks without DDV and the Pacers pick for starters
Pacers pick + Ersan + Brown + Pat might be my favorite scenario at the moment.
Rolo + Wes + DJ + Pacers pick would be a lot of defensive toughness to lose. And I think Wilson is more likely to resign vs Brown.
Either way I’m not sure if we trade Donte — at least not in addition to the Pacers first.

Bertans is a 3 and No-D. PF. If he's not shooting a high volume of 3's, he shouldn't be on the floor.

That makes us far worse. Both now and going forward.

I think you are on crack. No way DDV should be included in a trade for JJ.Jimmmycrackcorn wrote:Redick is a near perfect fit....and being signed through next year makes him an even better

The impact DDV makes, minus scoring, is huge.
At this point if DDV is traded we are getting better than 35 year old JJ....

I think someone posted before about Jae Crowders D on Kawhii. That to me is more valuable than JJ Reddick shooting 3s. Which in the playoffs, 3s may not fall, just like Mirotic proved last season.

Is Jj going to add much more than Wes? Sure, he’s better, but so much better to give up guys that are contributing mightily? I’ve come around on Wes. His d is very underrated.

Similar discussion on Brogdon moving on. Some people thought that would be a huge loss....and other players are stepping up to fill that void. Maybe not completely but its hard to judge that.steger_3434 wrote:Is Jj going to add much more than Wes? Sure, he’s better, but so much better to give up guys that are contributing mightily? Bertans plays plenty of SF, and I like him, but I can't get past his embarrassingly bad playoff performance last year. We can't have another guy who wilts in the playoffs while we still have Bledsoe.

im not sure i want redick eating any minutes from donte, sterling, or pat. let alone trading any of them for him.
i came into this thread to figure out what we are going to do at the end of the year when we win a chip with this roster, with sterling and pat.

Probably keep one of them.
No trades at this point. Disrespectful to even entertain ideas given the way this roster is playing. Getting a team like the one we have is the reason you make trades.

As this point I'm riding with Wes and his D.
Why give up assets for Redick, when he'll create (defensively) as many problems as he might help (shooting)
You also have to part with Ersan in most any trade variant to make the salaries match, as Redick makes $13mm.

Redick's DRTG is about 10 higher than anyone we currently march out onto the floor, and closer to 20 higher than people he would be replacing in the rotation.
He is bad defensively.
