Nobody. Even if we try trading Brook or Bobby for a quality sg I don't see teams given one up for them.

Why not? Teams have an expressed need for quality bigs, we have a need for a quality sg they may have.

Green is perfectly suited for a bench 3-point sniper role, the same Beasley was. They need to upgrade that spot. If they cannot, I would expect them to try a more athletic player at that spot and live with the weaknesses to improve the team defense.

I don't see Green starting.

Foot speed and quickness help on defense, but aren't essential. Kris Dunn isn't the quickest player, nor is Alex Caruso. There are a ton more examples. Toughness, smarts, anticipation are more important.
I think willingness is a big one as well. You menioned some guys who are not fast but they are good. Watching Beas it look likes he doesn't even try and doesn't even care.

#1:
MKE: Stewart, Eason
HOU: Ingram
NOP: Lopez, Jeff Green, 1st via HOU
DET: Brooks, 1st via HOU

#2 (admittedly not a big Brown fan, but):
MKE: Brown
TOR: Wiggins, Beauchamp
GSW: Portis, Connaughton

Lillard / Bev / Johnson
Brown / Wright / Green
Middleton / Jackson / Livingston
Giannis / Eason / Smith
Stewart / Theis

I’d still like THT on the minimum. I think he could eventually be a KCP type defensive specialist with the right team.

Brook is 37 on a big contract. Thats enough to scare any one off. Bobbby is a tweener and is not a good defender for a big.

If you watch the press conference interview with them, they're all smiles. Both seemed giddey to be here. Serious young men too, not party boys. Same as Marjon.

Loved how AJ said he has an obsession with being an unstoppable player.

That's step one. Step two is understanding what you need to do to get there. Step two-a is executing on that understanding and it's step two-a because step three is profit.

Some comments with the current roster structure.

- AJJ is the high energy, low usage fifth starter Milwaukee desperately needs.

- Green is the Beasley with some D that can become extremely useful coming from the bench.

- MarJon is the athletic Pat which Connaughton isn't any more

- Bucks will be above the 2nd apron when they sign their rookies for something like 200K with 13 contracts.

- At this point I'm expecting just a Pat trade for a bigger and cheaper player. I would consider Nnaji from Denver just to recoup some of the lost SRPs for Jae's corpse.

Dame/Wright/Johnson
AJJ/Green
Midds/MarJon/Livingston
Giannis/Portis/Smith
Lopez/Nnaji

Yes, Andre is the logical fit but he might not be ready offensively quite yet.

Brook is 36. His contract is an expiring. It's an asset. So is his play. If we dealt him, we'd have trouble replacing him on the FA or viable trade market. Therefore he has value to us and other teams. We're already getting reports of calls.

Bobby was one of the leading candidates for 6th man of the year and has been a passable starter for us.

This is a case of familiarity breeds contempt. If whatever viable sg trade option came our way, after while you'd bemoan they couldn't shoot well enough, or rebound, dribble, or were only OK defenders. Smart & Brown get 1 or 2 of those critiques.

Role players are far from perfect. That's why they're role players. Heck, even most stars aren't perfect.

Funny, to me he was ready last season on offense. His man D is what needs to get up to speed.

Valanciunas just got $30 million. There's a market for these guys. Bobby is better than 1/3 of the starting PFs in the League.

Both probably crappy prospects. Shannon is 23 (going to be 24 in a few weeks) who dominated his FIFTH year in college. Like cool, I would hope a borderline prospect who is 6'6" and fully developed would put up good numbers against amateurs. I don't think AJJ is going to be any good, but I at least see there's a chance of him being a high-end bench player. Shannon's full potential is basically going to be reach in the next 18 months but Johnson probably won't play much during that period.

Shannon put up really good numbers his entire college career. He got more minutes at Illinois the past two seasons, but he was a hell of a player at Texas Tech too. It’s not like he just broke out.

Ryan Dunn is the prospect that will play immediately, and likely be an asset.

Neither of us like Brown, but this is the right direction.

I'm petty down on Horst right now, but at least he's not Mike Dunleavy Jr. Jr might be a worse GM than Sr, and Sr was god awful.

Hollinger

13. Lonnie Walker IV, Brooklyn: $4,710,320

Walker’s athleticism makes him something of a tease, but he shot 38.4 percent from 3 last season on a minimum deal with the Nets. He’s probably a fringe rotation player, but few veterans in that category have his upside to be more.

I think if Horst approached Walker the same way that he did with Beasley he could get him on the minimum. He should get more but he had a lot if injuries last year. His defense is as bad as Beasley but he’s more skilled offensively. I’d bet on his youth, plus we need some offense for when Middleton is hurt or we want to rest our big 3

Does Robert Portis get us more in a trade than Bobby Portis?

Yes! You nailed it, obviously his full name is Bobert and he just goes by Bobby

Did you just propose trading Bobby, PC and Beauchamp for Brown? Some proposals need to be made illegal.

The first one I'd be all in favor of. NOP not so much.
