Giannis won't go to New Orleans. He will tell the Pelicans he won't resign when it's time and the Pelicans will back down.
Then he will be angered that you tried to trade him to a non contender and he will demand all the things you don't want a superstar player to demand. Needless to say, he will torpedo his own value in order to go wherever he wants to go after that. Recent history shows what a disgruntled star can do in such occasions. Giannis ain't like that but don't provoke him.
If you want to trade him, find a contender.
It's the only trade scenario you are going to get good value in return.
He doesn't have a no trade clause, it's not in his personality to be difficult/disbelieve his own skills, & the team you trade him to doesn't have to be an existing contender. Were the Bucks a contender w/out Giannis the last 7 yrs?
I guess who he'd have to play with would be Trey Murphy, whoever they get for Zion from the 3rd team in the deal, CJ McCollum, & multiple standout 2-way players. That's a lot more than he has to work w/ in Milwaukee going fw, let's face it.
Most lotto teams who get Flagg would provide Giannis the best supporting cast of trade options because from contenders we'd take 2 of their win now/proven core guys. From OKC we're taking Chet & J-Dub. From Houston we're taking Sengun & Amen. How does that look after?
Philly probably provides the best opportunity because the Bucks could take Flagg, McCain, George. Then they'd still have Embiid, Maxey, Giannis, & Grimes. The Spurs secondarily would have Wemby, Fox, & Giannis.
