Re: Giannis' Development
CJ McCollum might be an All-Star in a down year in the West. Giannis could be an MVP candidate. Don't really care about the award.

Re: Giannis' Development
Jabari and Giannis were probably the two most improved post asb. You could take the probably out of that sentence id suggest.

It looks like a greek God's statue!

Might as well post it now I guess lol. I made a highlight mix of Giannis' season. Had to change clips/music a few times for copyright crap but whatever.

Re: Giannis' Development
This was probably already posted here somewhere, but I stumbled on this while getting my Giannis/Jabari/Bucks fix. I thought it would be cheesy, but there is some good stuff here:

I'm excited for Giannis to play for Greece this summer. Re-watch this game and tell me you aren't excited too...

Imagine how much better he's going to be this summer.

Re: Giannis' Development
Imagine how much better he'd be if he didn't play any games and just spent time working on his game and resting?

Yeah, playing for the NT last summer really f*cked up his development this year.

Re: Giannis' Development
Playing last year I think really helped his game. He really needed confidence I felt and that went a long way in that department.
This year is a completely different story. This year there is no question in my mind that playing overseas this summer will hurt his development in comparison to staying back and working on his skills. The added wear and tear and lack of specific training for that period of time is a big deal. Even he knows it. He just wants it so bad that he will likely still do it. We are all still human beings and sometimes getting what you really want is important as well.

Re: Giannis' Development
I have always had my favorite player in the league. They have never been a Milwaukee Buck. Till now.
My favorite player hands down bar none is Giannis. Not only is he easily by far and above the most fun to watch player in the league he may very soon be the best player in the league. AND HE'S A BUCK! What? No way! Hell yes!
What a great time to be a Bucks fan!! Get this boy resigned so that the damn league can't figure out a way to take him from us.

I think whether or not this is true depends on how the Greek team uses him. He's still a young guy, so if Greece gives him an expanded role on the team, he can still greatly benefit from that in the same way he benefited from getting an expanded role post-ASG with the Bucks. Obviously I don't expect Greece to make him PG, but I expect he'll be a lot more involved this time. The experience is a tangible benefit, and like you say, there is an underrated value in letting him do what he wants to do too.
You make good points, and honestly, I can see both sides of the issue. I guess I just feel like some people act like Giannis staying here is automatically beneficial to his development and that playing for the NT is automatically detrimental to his development. That seems too cut-and-dried. I suppose it's all tied in with the risk of injury though (which is of course legit).
My suspicion, which is of course impossible to prove, is that this kind of thing is less impact-ful on a player's development than people think and whichever choice he makes would turn out more or less the same. The only things that really matter are his work-ethic and Bucks coaching staff and teammates etc.

Re: Giannis' Development
I guess I just wanted him working on shooting jumpers all day and improving his handle. They are the most important things for him this summer. I understand he wants to play for Greece but I know he also wants to dominate the NBA.
