You keep quipping at those that think his dad is an issue, but almost none of the people with that concern have called Lonzo into question or mentioned anything about how that impacts his game. No one is saying, Lonzo is going to miss threes because he hears his dad yelling from the stands, or he is going to be a poor free throw shooter because he will be distracted by his dad choke slamming Vivek. But it's real to think elements of his career and chemistry with his teammates can certainly be impacted by his idiot father.

If you want to dismiss that, or just disagree, I got no problems with that, but not sure the point of your post, because it trivializes a very real concern for some here.

He's shown no inkling of being a problem on or off the court. This strikes me very much as a Serena & Venus/Richard Williams situation. I'd worry far more about him getting roasted on defense than his pop dropping truth bombs to The Sacramento Bee. Not sure why Lonzo's character is up for debate, while someone like, I dunno, Josh Jackson's isn't. I'm trivializing the trivial.

This is what I missing, who is saying this is about Lonzo's character? Seems like you are trivializing a point that isn't being made, but maybe I missed some post in the thread. I've feel like I have seen way more "seems like a good dude" or "looks like he gets that his dad is an idiot" than anyone suggesting he is dick because his dad is a dick.

As for his dad being a distraction, yeah I think that is going to be a thing. I didn't follow Tennis very closely, but I can tell you that Lavar seems like a way bigger distraction, given social media and given it is a team sport, and he seems to have no problem calling out Lonzo's teammates, telling the players the coach doesn't know what he is doing, and oh yeah proclaiming his son is already better than Steph. Not to mention the media is eating this Lavar **** up with a spoon, they are certainly going to put fuel on the fire so Skip Bayless or some other Jackass has something to talk about on TV.

Vivek would probably hire Lavar as HC.

At least we'd get to see that 4 on 5 basketball he always wanted. The one implemented by every AAU team trying to pad the stats of their guys.

Not a fan of Jackson at 17. Reminds me of Justin Anderson coming out. Average player puts together a good year on a good team that fools people into thinking he's more than average.

As much as I like OG I always felt he was mocked a little high for a guy who can't even work out for teams due to injury.

I hope we don't draft Justin Jackson. I hope we are working him out to entice another team to draft him before us.

I'd avoid any SF & PF or any sort of hybrid 2-3-4 on this draft.
I understand the BPA argument and by all means go for it if there is a true standout, but the problem is that one thing that we do have in this team is hybrid SF-PF that can play multiple positions. If we do draft another there is a risk he won't find any minutes and we will destroy his development and/or eventually lose him for peanuts Noel/Nurkic style.

I'd much rather draft a pure C or PG, with emphasis on 3&D. Much easier to develop such a player on this team and give him the minutes he deserves.

The only "pure" center or point guard players I see to be available at 17 would be Justin Patton and Jawun Evans. Those are the only 2 players at those positions that I feel like have a chance to be actual 2way players. Everyone else likely to be available will be a 1 sided specialist that's a liability on the other end; Leaf on D, Ike, Bam, Allen on O etc... Patton and Evans look like to me that they'll both be able to play both sides of the ball well-very well (as the grow towards their ceilings). And also considering you specified those 2 positions, I think those 2 are easily the best of the bunch in regards to what you're looking for...

Can't say how I know, but Donovan Mitchell is scheduled to be in Milwaukee today.

I've always been a fan of Justin Jackson and would be very comfortable picking him. He's cleaned up his shot and has easy NBA range at this point. True floor spacer, that alone would justify the pick even if he didn't have a nice overall game on top of it.

I wouldn't say he's a one year wonder, either. He's been a good player all 3 years.

Yeah, Jackson's been a good player all 3 years at UNC, it's just the jumper only came around this past year. But isn't that exactly what you're looking for with these types of prospects? That they steadily improve? If he shot the ball like this his freshman year he would have been one and done, and likely gone mid-lottery.
