You're clearly not following. Nowhere did I claim that obtaining him would suddenly create cap space. Cap strapped teams need to squeeze value out of salary slots. A starting center at 7.5M with upward mobility represents that. This isn't a terribly difficult concept to understand.

The Clippers thought so highly of him that their offseason focus was to replace him. He's regressed this year.

If he is valuable, than we could move him to a 3rd team where he fits better. I do actually like him, but he's kind of a tweener. He just doesn't fit great next to Giannis.

In what way was their offseason focus to replace him? Because they got Serge Ibaka, a guy who can hit the three and won a championship while doing it? That's some sort of indictment on Ivica Zubac? That's just a blatantly false assertion. Their focus was their coaching situation and the retaining of their free agents. Listen, you've already been way off on his performance last season which leads me to believe you're just generally unfamiliar with the player in general.

A team that has Zubac replaced him with a center that can shoot the 3? Interesting, and the Clippers already had great floor spacing.

Look back, I ripped the Lakers when they gave Zubac away for nothing. I thought he'd eventually become a floor spacing big. It hasn't happened.

I'd be happy to move him to team that really needs him, like Toronto or Charlotte, for an interesting return.

What’s the rationale for the Clippers?

Is it that BroLo is viewed as a poor fit in Milwaukee now that he’s lost a step, but he’d do better elsewhere?

Veteran experience, shotblocking, volume shooting, knowing that he's got a pretty deep bag in the post, Forbes flamethrowing from beyond the arc. I'm not sure other teams are as entirely down on Brook Lopez as we are.

The Clippers really want to move Lou for chemistry reasons. They also want to add another PG.

Too bad they don't want to move Beverly.

I’d take Cousins for cheap, anything for less Lopez minutes.

Do we even have the ability to offer him anything if we are up against the hard cap?

Houston isn't going to give up Oladipo, and take on salary all for a top 10 protected first. Oladipo by himself could probably net combination expiring deals and a first . They don't get enough value and it feels like we're just dumping a pile of trash for Rozier.

Yeah, it's light on value for Houston. I almost included the ever popular MKE '21 & '23 1sts for '22 returned in there.

Cousins isn’t our saving grace but I think he’s gone through sort of a humbling process like Melo and I think he could still be useful and would give us a solid option outside of Brook/Portis

Has anybody done the math on the cap space? How many games through the season do we have to be to sign someone, barring any other salary dumps?

I did the math in the past and iirc there's no point so if that were true we're definitely looking at a salary dump. We're like 70k short if we sign a FA on the last day of playoff eligibility (assuming I did the math correctly).

I think it's around game 60ish. We should be looking to dump DJ Wilson for anyone willing to take a flier on him. OKC, NYK, Charlotte, Sacramento.

Lopez + Merrill for Bamba + Aminu

DDV + DJA + DJW + 1st for Rubio

Rubio/
Jrue/Harris/PatC
Porter Jr/Barton/Craig
Giannis/Aminu
Bamba/Portis

Or go with Jrue/Harris backcourt and bring Rubio off of the bench.

I would do that Middleton trade in the offseason. Not a fan of the others though.
still learning the game
