No to KD. I'm in the camp that with Dame out next year we should get a 27 million injury TPE . But in my opinion we don't have what it takes to challenge anymore. Also since Houston just lost game 7 to GSW I think they are 100% going to be looking for a #1 option and Giannis fits that.

Listen I don't not want to trade Giannis but he's 30 in his prime and is one of the biggest competitors in the game and wants to win championships. That's why I think he will quietly request a trade.

We need a new coach, but Malone isn't the right guy. He hates playing youngsters, and we desperately need to get more athletic, and that's only done by getting younger. Malone wasn't the mind behind their offense either. I want to hire a creative offensive mind.

Flagg/McCain/PG/2026 1st(PHI)/2028 1st (via LAC)/ 2028 1st (PHI)/2027 2nd (GSW or PHX)

That's the only trade I would do if he doesn't ask out.

If we don't fire Doc there's no point, he is not the guy to lead this team anywhere.

Looking at available coaches, I'd go one of Jenkins or a long time assistant in Cassell or Quinn.

Just our luck. Dame suffers a major injury and Houston lost. That's out the window. No to trading Giannis there because their picks won't be that good right?

There's always a little bit of me that laughs at signing guys that worked and learned their coaching craft under the guys you fired. Jenkins started and spent 6 years under Bud and Cassell started and spent 9 years behind Doc. Not saying they're bad coaches, just always funny to me.

Much like Doc, I think the actual thing with Malone is he doesn't like playing bad youngsters. He had no problem playing Christian Braun a lot. He just doesn't play the Jalen Pickett's of the world, which is fine. He played guys like Ben McLemore, Ray McCallum, Gary Harris, and Emmanuel Mudiay a ton too. Denver just had a bunch of bad 2nd round picks and he rightfully didn't want to put them on the court just to appease the GM that he hates.

This. If Rivers is back analyzing the offseason will be meaningless.

Kuzma and Pat (opts in) for Dejounte Murray and 1 of our picks back is almost a perfect salary match. Pelicans get off Murray’s contract and we get a crack at Murray coming back to be a positive guard and a 1st to add to the war chest.

Desperately looking for ways to move on from Kuzma..

If a trade with the Rockets were to happen, it has to include Thompson and cannot include either Sengun or Green. Sengun's play style makes me want to claw my eyes out and Green is a losing player. While I don't want to ever trade Giannis, a package of Thompson, Smith, Shepperd, Brooks and at least three future 1sts might soften the below.

That's where I stand. If Sengun or Green are included in a proposal then I try to trade them to Detroit for Ausar or another team for more unprotected picks. Sengun is not what the Bucks need. Every time I watch Sengun I feel like I am watching a Turkish Bobby Portis on offense who is even worse than Portis on defense.

I think Sengun's play style is very difficult to win with/difficult to build around, but aesthetically speaking it's probably my favorite style of play to watch so I'm torn on it lol.

I do wonder if Houston has the stones to say they'd rather pass on Giannis than include Amen at this point. It feels very stupid to do but I can't blame them for thinking they may have a future superstar on their hands with him.

Short of a catastrophic injury for Giannis, I don't really see the path to that looking smart for them. Amen is a cool player but I'm not really sure what his path to superstardom is, particularly to Giannis' level. The obvious comparisons are probably Iggy and T-Mac, and obviously, you're really happy with either guy, but neither one is close to Giannis.

No one other than maybe Jokic would be even close to Giannis’ level. Trading Giannis is not a smart long term strategy. You don’t do it proactively, that’s insanely stupid.

You only trade a generational superstar if he demands out or tells you he won’t sign a contract. Full stop. I don’t care how many interesting young players you guys find or how many picks we can get. I ain’t doing it. Giannis stays a Buck for life and we find another way to rebuild. Anything else is lunacy.

Why would NO do this? They still have to pay Kuzma until end of the 27 season. All they are saving is Pat next year and 1 year of Murray assuming he opts in 27/28.

I like the move of announcing that Giannis will not be traded and then trading something to NO to get that swap removed for the 2026 draft.. that way if life without Dame is rough we can so a soft tank like Dallas did to get Lively.

I also dont think the pels have any hope of playoffs anyway so the swap may be meaningless

Well you kinda just said it..

They would save about 13.3M in 26/27 and then 31.6M in 27/28.

I wouldn’t give up assets to do so. If we’re a lottery team, we’ll get a lottery pick anyway. NOP isn’t making the playoffs in the west next year.

Edit: Apparently, I didn’t read your second paragraph.
