They tried to trade him last year and nobody wanted him. They blew it when they re-signed him.

brook just signed for patc money. we ran the tires off that asset and needed every minute he gave us

Sure, but if we are shaking up this roster, he is the one that holds us back from that. Nothing against him, he has been great, but different is better right now.

the dude can play 2-4 effectively off the bench and shot 44% from 3 and is on a vet min deal.

our coach is a separate issue

No,he can't play effectively. He can't rebound, pass or play defense.

Just got to hope we saw the end of Doc's complete insanity in game 5 & that was his breaking point. Inverted lineups, except Giannis, w/ Sims as the playable backup C in the playoffs; was a winning formula. Dame's return can be a wild card.

I get the frustration, but I don't think it's fair to take it out on Prince. He's useful.

Nah he’s pretty damn bad and there was no reason to bring him back after what we saw last year, let alone on a 2 year deal.
I was trying to convince myself. :)

For minimum when they shoot 40+% from 3, why not?
Don’t blame Horst for Doc’s incompetence. Horst built a roster capable of beating the Eastern Conference champion w/o Lillard.
It’s not his decision to get rid of Doc. If it was Doc would be long gone. Anyone with half a basketball mind can see how useless Doc is. Unfortunately our owners only have 1/4 of a brain combined.

Don't give me regular season stats to make Prince seem playoff caliber

Also, remember, both Prince & GTJ are Rich Paul clients. Could be a packaged deal. Though I thought Paul was peddling b.s. about Giannis leaving.

I would definitely rather have Sims than Prince.

Why are people hating this deal?

It's the vet minimum. We knew we were gonna need at least a few of those so who were you eyeing up for vet minimum contracts that so much better to warrant bitching and moaning? lol

Now if you want to make fun of yet another player option being handed out?....... Well i mean Horst might just be in on the joke at this point

I think we're going to do the Wiggins thing. Miami really wants out of the 2nd year of that deal. I'm guessing Kuzma back to Washington, Smart to the Heat is the basic framework

Catching up now, KPJ signing was the biggest deal, super happy with that. Lopez leaving was a couple years late but offers a sliver of hope that we're figured out that putting the slowest team possible around Giannis is stupid. The Prince signing I guess is no big deal if you remove all context from what happened last season. He's a GOAT level coach-bait fraud that Royal Ivey could only dream of being.

I mean I don't think that's an either/or situation between those two.

God forbid we'd give that spot to a young vet with some upside.

We needed a wing and center. It's not an either/or situation.

I maybe just would have invested more in the wing that Prince is making & went younger. That's a hole, w/ Pat, Ajax, & CL occupying those spots. I wonder if we can put something together w/ Pat, Ajax. Maybe try Naji Marshall or even Caleb Martin here.

that's just it.. he doesn't need to be playoff caliber. the regular season is long and he's a guy who can contribute.

i dont think they would as a trade goal. i think all they care about is gaining assets. so i dont think they honestly care if they have to take him back just to get a pick.
