D Mitch 2.0 i hope he keeps working hard and developing. Good look for everyone, even though I’m mad we didn’t secure his rights by giving him one of those two ways.

I was just thinking it would be nice if the Herd could develop players like Miami's Nunn and Robinson. Then Tucker gets signed and you have to wonder why he wasn't at least given a 2 way.

Giving Horst a 1pt deduction for not giving him a two way mason doesn’t look like an NBA player

Ehhh he’s not exactly a fit here lol. Glad to see him get his shot, especially with an anemic offense like the Jazz where he should have the freedom he did in Oshkosh.

He's a perfect fit here. Should have moved on from Sterling Brown. Tucker was exactly what this team needed. Hyper efficent scoring guard. Very disappointing.

It’s awesome to have Woj tweeting about the Bucks having an “elite G-league team” and quoting Chase Buford’s praise of a call up. Two years ago they were slapping lipstick on a Brandon Jennings pig and last year they seemed to be inexplicably tanking. Great sign for the future.

What would you credit the turn around to? Their gm? Bud/Horst? Buford? All the above? Sorry if this is a dumb question! I just don’t follow the G-league

Bud has a long history of being all about the G-league. Most of his staff’s resumes include extensive & successful G league experience. No inside info but my guess is he took last year to survey what they had in Brady (hired by Horst/Dean) & helped encourage the easy decision to clean house after the Herd’s league worst 18-19 campaign without a single call up. The year before, Horst/Dean clearly had no idea what they were doing yet. Bud has a proven knack for player development and I assume he had an inside track on hiring Chase Buford, given his many years in San Antonio working with his pops. The biggest pre Budenholzer Herd success story is probably Joel Bolomboy getting a nice contract in Russia. I’m always going to err on giving more credit to Budenholzer, the staff he hires & system he implements.

Tucker is a volume scorer, not a “hyper efficient” scorer. He had an extremely long leash in Oshkosh that allowed him to pretty much take any shot he wanted, he wasn’t going to get that with Bud (nor should he have). Good player, bad fit. Awesome to see him get his shot, I literally watched him play last Wednesday. Like I said, the Jazz bench has zero offensive players so he will get plenty of shots. Great opportunity for him.

I get why, but it’s funny how if a Herd guy plays well it’s “He should be a Buck ASAP! He’s easily better than players 13-17!” but almost nothing is said about all the productive players around the rest of the G-league. Like, if anyone suggested a dude from the Salt Lake Stars could be better than DJ Wilson there’d be a lot of “Are you kidding? A G-league scrub?! GTFO!”

I’m guilty of believing in Xavier Munford and Bonzi Colson more than I probably should have. I get it.

Colson has been pretty limited for a middling Turkish team of Eurocup, so no

He doesn't really offer much of a point of difference over there as an undersized PF. I like his funky floater game better in this league. Or maybe I have a weird thing for him because he looks like a garbage can on stilts.

Volume scorers don't have 66 TS%. Not even Freaking Giannis can get to 66 TS%. You consider
Giannis a volume scorer? Tucker had a 66TS%. Most importantly, his TS% was even higher during his last 4 games when he averaged 35 ppg.

Awesome fit who could have addressed a Bucks weakness that was exposed in the Mavericks game.

Honestly, I expected more rebounds statistically-wise in the Turkish league, Italy and Turkey are the best leagues for rebound-padding among the decent ones. In a couple of Eurocup games I caught he struggld to finish inside. He definitely can stick in the Eurocup level, I would be cautious suggesting that he can be a good contributor for a good Euroleague team though, he lacks....feel I would say

His teammate Johnathan Hamilton is massive, and he's among the best rookies overseas this year. Really uses his body inside, and alters shots with his length. Not an NBA athlete, but someone that Euroleague teams will take a serious looks in summer.

bonus: Bucks Legend Doron Lamb cashed 2 good seasons in bad Greek teams with a contract in Darussafaka, where he's just OK, nothing special but not bad enough to get replaced :)

I think Tucker was legitimately the best pro prospect out of all the G League guys who don't have their rights held by a NBA team. He's performed like a 2nd round pick. There are better G League players for sure, but who don't look to me like real NBA prospects. And there are guys I'd rather have who are under contract (Konchar is a nice player; Nowell for mine is the best prospect in the G League this year).

Watch him play. He’s a volume scorer who has been putting up unsustainable numbers. He’s been taking shots off the dribble with guys in his face every game. He’s hit some pretty ridiculous shots the last two weeks (he had two 4 point plays ((missed a FT on one though)) in the game I was at Wednesday).

I get being disappointed the Bucks didn’t keep him, but these callups are going to be a huge part of the Bucks development going forward. Especially with the draft going without the age limit. The Bucks should be one of the top destination for future two way players if they can consistently produce call-up players.
