Donte sucks now? What an awful take. Did you watch the Bucks before the bubble?

Every game! he’s a 7th-8th man at best

I’m pretty sure a 7th man on a contender in effectively his first healthy season in the league doesn’t “suck”. I get we’re all frustrated but some of these takes are just insane.

Open to different ideas of SG at MLE

I assume you're kidding - putting Haliburton there.

You think the 12th pick of the draft is worth that much more than Bogdan, even though the Kings are no longer eating a $7 million contract?

You must be not factoring that the original trade with Bogdan was effected by the leverage Bogdan and Milwaukee had. There's zero chance we get Haliburton in that deal. It's not even conceivable.

I m not saying that Donte is not better than them but right now he is nothing more than an average back up player, i cant trust you or anyone and sorry for that for what he can become, i want something better than him or else we just pray, do you want that?

Remember the Bledsoe conversation we had few years back? :D

DDV was close to starter level last year as a 22/23 year old, that is his floor - not an average back up player. None of those guys were anywhere near as good as him at the same age.

Strengths: 6'5 guard, fast, athletic, fairly strong, good ball handler, can get to the rim, fairly smart, good defender, tenacious.

Weaknesses: Inconsistent, sometimes irresponsible with the ball, inaccurate passing, below average jumpshot, not great at finishing.

Considering how young he is, I expect him to improve in all these areas (especially shooting and finishing).

What’s the point of being able to get to the rim and you can’t finish? What’s the point of being a good ball handler if you are responsible with ball?

His jumper is inconsistent and I don’t know how much better it can get.

DDV is a 7th man nothing more and nothing less...

I'm all for improving the team. If we trade Donte for a clear cut upgrade so be it. I think a lot of what made Bogdan appealing is the fact that Giannis seemingly wanted him. With that aside I don't think Bogdan is clearly better than the alternative of DDV and using other free agent alternatives.

When all this improvement going to happen ?

You just traded 3 first round picks for now and you ask me to wait my friend ?

If you see the future then don't trade for Holiday and take what you can from Giannis and wait, don't do half things, or its all in or its all out.

Again i like Donte and if we can keep him i m all in but we need a more proven player than him right now to fight for the championship.

Go get Bogdan still.

SAC: Bogdan, Barnes, Haliburton
Still have MLE? If so, pray for Gallo/Harris

Keeping Donte and using the MLE on Joe Harris.

The point is that he is good at those things but as he develops, he will get better at finishing and making less erratic/innaccurate passes. That should make him a more effective scorer and playmaker.

You don't think he is likely to improve those areas? He was 22/23 last season.

Sure why not, i actually prefer him, but how?

I read that he wants to stay with the Nets, we also know that many teams would love to have him and will offer much more than what we can offer him so its extremely difficult..

Joe Harris is going to get much closer to double the MLE. That’s a pipe dream. If Gordon Hayward declines a $35 million pay day then a guy like Harris is going to get paid.

Gallo was only semi realistic because he’s publicly said he wants to play for a winner.

Some of the improvement will happen this season. If we can trade him for a starter I would consider it. But I don't see a lot of options right now. If we keep DDV he will be a valuable player for us this year.

How much salary can we offer? Apparently Harris is going to command 18m.

I get what you’re saying, and I can see your point, but the way Donte got repeatedly abused by Herro in the series was tough to watch. There was such a huge gap in talent levels and I think it really brought me back down to earth on Donte. Maybe that’s not fair and maybe it’s just recency bias, but man that really killed a lot of the Donte hype for me (along with pretty much everything else he did in the bubble). I’m not saying he sucks, I’m just saying his ceiling seems significantly lower but I was hoping it could be.

I actually kinda like this trade. Anyway Sacto does something like this? Is it even possible with the S&T rules?

I’m believing that Horst will do ANYTHING to get Giannis to sign that Supermax. That idea decides the fate of our whole franchise and his Job. Next couple days will tell a lot.
