Now the best fix for a lot of this would be a hard cap and no max contracts. That would do the best job of spreading talent out. But unfortunately I can't see either the players or owners agreeing to it.

I hate to be a blame the media guy but I do think the NBA media does a **** job promoting smaller markets and it contributes to the problem. Hell I think they should focus more on teams than individual players too.

They could have a rule where a player under a certain age can sign a contract that exceeds the 5 year limit if they have been with the same team for a certain number of years.

Something like: If player x is 28 or under, and has been with the same team for 3 years, he can sign a contract up to 6-7 years.

It would incentivize players to stay with their current team.

Like, as a Bucks fan, would you not have liked to sign Giannis for longer than 5 years? The term only becomes a problem when it goes to a player who would be in their mid 30s when it expires. Adding the maximum age would solve that.

Also maybe adding a minor compensation for signing another teams RFA to an offersheet.
still learning the game

That's not a bad idea. You'd have to also do something about guys in the second year of an 8 year deal forcing a trade.

They are definitely the worst, I haven't listened since Heinsohn passed and rip, but he was unreal biased.

Can't decide if I should find this annoying or funny considering how obnoxious some GS fans were about Giannis.

Giannis does this it's tampering. LeBron does it, it's celebrated.

And for how long will that weight be a good thing? He’s been dominant lately but man, he’s really big. Hope he stays healthy.

God damn, KD is so angry and sensitive and weird. Funny seeing KD fans try and defend their guy after these cringey episodes that are so common.

Really starting to think that Durant might be schizophrenic or bipolar. Because if not, that's a whole new level of sad/pathetic even for him. You wouldn't know that these guys make hundreds of millions of dollars to play a game for a living with how miserable so many of them seem to be.

Lakers vs. Nets is gonna be the most dislikable group of athletes ever assembled for a championship game in the history of sports.....isn't it?

Rapport is a turd so can't fault KD for coming at him. I actually find KDs wild online side kind of endearing. Hell I wonder if he's been on here arguing with a burner. As much as we say these guys should ignore the online trolls I bet lots of them are very online and use burners.

Rapaport's a turd but I don't really know what's endearing about hurling homophobic insults over the internet. Would actually be surprised if the league didn't take a look at this.

I mean I think it's pretty clearly objectively worse than what Meyers Leonard just got in trouble for to be honest. Like to me that's pretty inarguable but I doubt we'll see any sort of significant punishment for KD.

KD called him a b tch and p ssy. Not exactly PC but not exactly a slur or did I miss something in that exchange?

C*m guzzling/cicksucking talk? Also if we want to be technical KD definitely threatened to assault him talking about spitting in his face and was heated enough to explicitly mention doing all of this in person multiple times.

IMO that's all substantially worse than someone saying a slur while gaming online (not that that is ok either)
