Prince? Eh. I don't think he's a winning player. But I'm guessing Horst looked around at who was available for the veteran's minimum and figured that the safe bet was bringing back a guy who could knock down an open three, which will be even more important with a Giannis-focused offense.

I have no problem with prince signing for vet minimum but he is a back up sf and that’s what he should only be. Doc had him starting at sg which was idiotic! They need to resign Trent and get Ayton and or Sims now that Lopez is gone they need a center with size.

Trade Conny and Kuz for Wiggins.

Find a free agent Center?

Roster doesnt get me too excited for next year. Feels like 2016

In the regular season, the lineup of Dame-Green-Prince-Giannis-Brook won a lot. There are regular season lineups you can put him in that win. Doc just didn't do that enough.

In the postseason it hasn't went very well for him over the years. But I don't think it's anything inherent to his game. He can shoot & is switchable. He became gun shy, was tasked w/ guarding smalls primarily. If he's just a regular season player, that has utility on a vet min.

I would have much rather just taken a chance on some random scrap heap free agent over Prince.

It's not even so much that Prince is a useless losing player. It's that if Prince is on our roster, Doc is going to play him way too many minutes.

Prince sucked in the regular season as well, spamming his 3PT% means nothing to me when the dude sucks at damn near everything else and his shooting proved to be totally fraudulent in the playoffs. There's a reason the guy had one of the worst net ratings among our rotation guys last year despite playing a massive portion of his minutes as a starter in Giannis lineups. All in huge sample sizes, Giannis without Prince lineups had a +13.3 net rating, Prince without Giannis lineups a -9.2 net rating. The dude is a known crappy player and we should've taken a chance with literally anybody else. A known crappy player who our dumb GM inexplicably gave a 2nd year PO. It's comical.

Prince on a min deal is fine as a backup 3/4. Our **** coach is gonna start him at the 2 all year though.

People citing Prince's 3P% in this thread need to look at his attempts.

And that's the thing he's relatively good at. Playing heavy minutes and out of position didn't do him any favors, but he's a 10th man, not a regular rotation guy.

I think you're totally correct, but this is a Doc problem, not a Prince problem. If we try and construct our roster around protecting ourselves from Doc we're **** anyways.

The gap year is looking pretty real, and I'm honestly not sure it isn't the wisest option for us this year, but sure have to hope we've had that conversation with Giannis.
