He also only had one good year shooting the ball.

Could have improved a lot or it could be an outlier.

What if a guy shot 37% on 3.5 attempts per game for 2 seasons?

Same amount of attempts, same makes in total. Is it fair to say he's the better shooter?

Edit:

I think Justin is going to be a decent pro. Liked what I saw when I watched UNC games. He's not my top choice at 17, but I would be optimistic if we got him.

He's certainly a better shooter than he was, but I'm not convinced that he's some sort of great shooter because of one season.

More attempts could mean that he's a confident shooter and/or that the shot attempts were more than just open catch and shoot.

I like Jackson, but I think we could pull a comparable player in the 2nd or UDFA.

He's not a great shooter. He's a fair-to-good shooter with range past the NBA line and a bunch of other elements to his game.

Justin Jackson was my first, logical, take on who at pick #17 would be the easy fit to come in and contribute next year. Unfortunately we got bounced from the playoffs so early, that I have since developed a draft crush on a Louisville combo guard, a seven foot German, and an Aussie in the Adriatic league. Perhaps draft season is too long.

I hope we bring in Derrick White for a solo workout. After watching him and by stats, he's much more athletic than I originally thought.

I like how that Ringer piece put White in between Dellavadova and Brogdon in the size continuum. A nice bit of foreshadowing?

Excel client too I do believe.

Wasn't a solo workout, but we did bring him in for one of our workouts back in May

Yep, I saw that in your spreadsheet. Awesome work and thanks for tracking the workouts, btw!

I would just like to hear about a solo workout for my peace of mind. :D

If Briscoe could ever develop a respectable 3PT shot, he could be a super athlete version of Patrick Beverly. Also, good news for you George De Paula fans, he just broke through into DX's Top-60:

Might not be too rare, but with Kadeem Allen coming in, we have now worked out all three of Adie Von Gontard's NBA clients: Frank Mason, Andrew White III, and Allen.

VJ Beachem is a classic example of why you should be acquiring your 3+d's in the 2nd rd of the draft and not fa or trades mainly. Because they remain to be far undervalued in the draft. The first 40+ picks and maybe the whole way teams are looking for more than that sort of role player. So if you identify a 3+d like Beachem then you're golden.

Dozier could be that guy too, but needs to come a long way on the 3 (then maybe could be more because of his slashing/passing).

That's one of the tough things about telling exactly who the 3+d guys are. A lot of them develop their 3's once they're in the NBA. Case in point Trevor Ariza. That's kind of who Beachem reminds me of already. He's got a beautiful shot. It doesn't really need to be developed.

Biggest takeaway: We need to build our offense around getting Thon 16-foot baseline jumpers.

With Mitchell working out, that would at least seem to mean he didn't get a promise at 12 with Detroit, so that is some good news.

Good for Lonzo. Maybe his ass hat of a father will go away for awhile and let his 19yr old son go through a special time in his life without interference.

Could also mean we've told his agent we've had discussions about moving up.

If Horsts 1st order of business is fleecing a team in the top 12 with Henson and 17 for their pick to draft DMitch, he wins GM of the century in my book.

Maybe that's been the whole schtick all along. Horst was in the background on the down low setting up moves and now something has come to fruition and when he brought it to LED, they said "congratulations you're the new GM of the Milwaukee Bucks".... amiright?!?!
