Definitely curious to know how that played out and who initially presented the idea. I'd imagine it was the Bucks with Griff signing off but as you said, was that a part of the preliminary agreement?

I don't think any big since Dream has had that kind of cat-quickness and footwork. I love Freak but he has a different build and is more mechanical with his movement in the half-court.

He can still do basic stuff, though, which will result in the ability to have simple counters to overly aggressive defenders. Again, these are things he made strides on from about 2020-2022 (especially) but he tends to abandon them.

To tie it back to the coaching staff, I'm wondering what Griffin talked about with him to where Gianni felt excited and/or comfortable with his hiring.

Giannis in full Lebron the GM mode. Mostly kidding...but the coach scurrying to Greece gives me pause.

You say he's scurrying to Greece, I say he's going to spend some time with the superstar face of the franchise. I would expect nothing less. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Free trip to Greece, presumably in the owners private jet, to hang out with Giannis. That’s a job perk I’d sign up for.

Hakeem was very skilled, great athlete, amazing defender etc. However he was always hovering around 50% fg and without taking 3s. Not a great efficiency for an all time center

Most of his shots were probably post up jumpers rather than dream shakes resulting in layups

Don’t forget Marjon is going out to Greece as well. It’s possible more players including Adrian are meeting Giannis to workout out there and bond. Don’t think there’s anything nefarious behind it.

If this brings a real sense of team to the guys, then I'm all for it. This has the potential to be a great move that really gets the guys united (not that there's much doubt of that already) and playing for each other, all on the same page.

Nefarious, of course not. But one guy is traveling across the globe to go to the other guy. This is a real Larry David, Jason Alexander situation.

It's nothing new though.

If you have a little bit of money, Greece is a dream. Giannis is not exactly torturing his coaches by (probably) paying for them to get a few dream days in an exotic locale in the summer time.

Does Giannis have a mansion in Greece as well? Or just all seeing sites and staying at luxury hotels and dining out? They rent a gym in Greece? Or just a relaxation kinda trip? Game plan to recruit free agents? Chat in the new coaches ear?

WiscoKing13 wrote:According to Bucks.com we had 9 assistants last year. We have confirmed 2 out of 9 are staying.

1 is Giannis guy and 1 is a legacy Bucks player who has a great relationship with Brook(Reminder he's a FA, we might want to not piss him off).

Also the lead assistant who is coming in has zero connection to the FO or ownership

But sure let's take Gery at his word....

What an amazing work trip from Griff’s perspective.

Reminds me of the time when I was reimbursed for my flight, room at Best Western and Buffalo Wild Wings dinner for a work trip to Cincinnati, Ohio.

Do you mean why he couldn't be born with all-time great shooting touch like Hakeem Olajuwon?

Yeah. I used to think that Giannis could develop like Hakeem. Nope. Hakeem is just too skilled in the post and as a jump shooter.

Giannis is probably more physically overwhelming and as such seems much more similar to baby Wilt Chamberlain. He’d be well served to perfect that fall away 8 footer off glass Wilt made his career on if he didn’t score down low in transition. He’s already decent at it in spurts.
