He shot 47% and 41% from 3 last yr if he shows he can play good defense while shooting like that he ain’t going anywhere but Jackson might be though if he don’t show any improvement in camp.

You still need to clear 1 more spot to make room for Coffey.

I think they have 9 rotation locks entering the season

KPJ/Cole
Green/Rollins
Trent/
Giannis/Kuz
Turner/Bobby

That leaves only 1 rotation spot for Prince, Coffey, Sims, and Harris if you assume a 10 man rotation

Having someone like Gary Harris as your 13th guy is pretty solid depth for when injuries inevitably occur

Harris is awful. Prince and Coffey aren't good. We have 9 playable players, plus Kuzma, and unfortunately 3 of those 9 are centers. We have a major depth problem.

Kuzma: "Coach, what do you got for me? What is going to be my new role in the team?"
Rivers: "****, you're still here? I thought we shipped you to Australia or something, my bad."

The vibe I get from the interviews is that Kuz is having the role of being "the backup Giannis" in the off minutes plus whatever is needed in situational matchups, unless his shot gets proven in games by some miracle.

For the "too many small wings / guards" situation I don't think they have a predetermined plan. They will let the preseason play out to see who looks better. Luck also may reveal a plan by way of injuries.

Yes they do and they will if he proves in camp that he is the clear starting 3 if it’s Harris that’s cut so be it I want the whoever gives us the best chance to win. I am still holding out hope Livingston starts making his 3 ball and becomes our starting 3 of the future.

Hadn’t thought about the guy we signed as an agent favor being on the outs.

Might be as plausible as Livingston (who we similarly gave a guaranteed deal to) or Smith (who we recently drafted in the high second) getting cut.

Meanwhile Harris makes even less sense here after we signed Anthony and Coffey:

Horst: It's a really competitive camp, and we knew that going into it. We were presented the opportunity, as the offseason progressed, to add some players that we thought were just too good to be true and just really great opportunities. We're going to let the guys play it out. I think competition gives us a great opportunity to have a great start to our camp and a great start to our season.

Would be hilarious if Thannies doesn't make the team. Some real panache to that cap circumvention.

Prince as an 11th guy is pretty darn good. Sims as a12th guy, Harris as a 13th guy. That's better depth than most teams

Once we finish with the 2 seed all we're gonna hear about is how deep this team is from the same people who are calling us scrubs.

Depth only matters if the coach uses it and the team plays in a way to utilize it.

Id argue depth only matters if/when injuries occur. Guys like Jericho Sims & Gary Harris likely don't play if everyone is healthy. But if a couple guys go down and then have to play 15 min in a game we'll be very thankful

Between inevitable injuries and load management depth will absolutely matter.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

If the mix of Harris/Prince/Coffey/Jackson et al don’t work, we may have to get our draft pick of this year from Europe.

Better chances of Ajax winning Most Improved than ever seeing him play an NBA game, unfortunately.

Good to have him back. He won't play Monday. Last year he played 20 and 23 minutes in both home preseason games, didn't play the road games. Probably the same this year

When that happens, it'll be because of the core of Giannis, Turner, KPJ, Green, Trent, and Bobby. The bottom 1/3 of our roster is hot trash.

Last year we had 5 playable players in the playoffs, and now we have 6 with Turner.

Bogo is a better prospect than Jovic, who just got a fat extension.
