Yup, just hate Australians. Least favorite people after Belgians. Keeps me up at night.

I'd say I know as much as most do about Exum, I've watched the youtube tapes. I suppose I could watch the whole tourney he was in, I don't put any stock into high school allstar games.

I don't like Exum, I think he is overhyped and underscrutinized. I don't understand how people are putting him above Smart let alone putting him their top 2. I just don't see anything special about him, what elite skill does he have? He has a quick first step and is tall.

Maybe I'll be eating crow in a few years but I don't think we'll be regretting not taking Exum if he we take one of the undisputed top 3 in this draft.

Parker is a legit power forward size, it would be madness having him at the 2. :-?

I didn't mean that he could play the 2, just theoretically. So, 6 "8 240 with a 7 foot wingspan is decent size for the PF spot? Seems a little undersized to me.

Just under 9 foot standing reach which is pretty good at PF.

Perhaps i should be a little more liberal with the green text, I thought the tongue smilie and just the silliness of saying I am prejudice against Australians would be enough. Some things just don't make it thru the language barrier I guess. :P

i see a lot of long time posters on this forum that like parker, are they "casual fans"?

Saying casual fans like Parker is different from saying everyone who likes Parker is a casual fan. I know I certainly wouldnt feel great being on Woelfel's side based on his talent evaluation in the past and who he has wanted to be on the floor.

It is similar to if David Khan came out tomorrow with glowing reports about Exum. I like Exum but would make me question a few things

You shouldn't care at all what morons think when evaluating players.

You know this as a fact, eh? Well hell, hopefully he'll fall to 31 then!!! Or do you think he'll be available at 36? Doubt any team would wanna spend a 1st on a disaster.

Is the track record for international PGs worse than it is for international Cs, or wings, or American PGs, bigs or wings?

How many international PGs have been highly regarded enough to go in the lottery? Rubio and...

I can't think of any outside of Rubio. Steve Nash might be the closest one but he wasn't even picked till like 15 or 16 in the draft.

I think I'm fine with Embiid, Wiggins or Jabari. Don't like Exum as much as some others on this board. I still really like Larry on the team but passing on a (maybe) healthy Embiid would be absurd.

This is a new and interesting take. Please elaborate.

I like Embiid, Parker, and Wiggins. I don't like Exum.

Ah, that makes it much clearer.

So you don't like Giannis? Because he was underscrutinized, and has been discussed as a top pick if there was a do-over from the last draft. Also, I'm glad you aren't drafting, we'd end up with Doug McDermott.

The concerns with Exum were his performances with inferior competition. Then he played an outstandind McDonalds game. People were concerned about his shooting, which has improved. He's a legit size, can run the point and seems to get by people on the perimeter. I can certainly see what people get excited about.

Perhaps another way to look at it is he would have been a lot better had he played on a better team. Crap Aussie high school kids blowing open shots Exum set them up for isn't a great way to assess his talent. Is he a guaranteed star? Not a chance. But he has exciting tools, and maybe he'll be the best player in the draft.

I guess at least you can see there's a chance you'll be wrong.

I was pretty outspoken about Embiid's back, but if we really can't take a look at him or his medical records, concerns arise.

I still think we can manage him, and he obviously looks in great shape at the moment.

I wonder why his reporting changed from 'stress reaction' to 'stress fracture' all of a sudden. The first is just a spot on an MRI (what I thought he had) the second is bone disruption... Obviously I though the second was more severe but now am wondering if the terms are used interchangeably.

Or if reporters are cocking it up. Or smokescreens :dontknow:

The difference between Exum and Giannis is that last year we were picking #15 and the alternative was Shane Larkin, this year we're picking #2 and there are players I think can be multiple time all stars available. I'm more apt to take a shot in the dark when there aren't any other options, the upside there far exceeded the risk.

Power forward, no problems. Takes him from 4th to third for me.

Above Exum or are you low on Wiggins?

Wiggins scares the hell out of me. I'm planning a big scouting period after my exams so I've tentatively got Exum at two and Parker at three.

Jesse Hogan went from 'stress reaction' to indefinite and is now on what looks like a stress fracture timetable. I'm hoping its a common mistake and not incompetence. :dontknow:

It's quite possible they pushed him a bit with Mitch Clark pulling the pin. Now they've chucked him on a more conservative timetable, which may be overly cautious.

I'm sure a few wins have helped them pull things back a bit...

Embiid's timetable checks out with stress reaction. There's no way he's balling now if it was a fracture.

If Embiid and his agent are just trying to manipulate the draft to go where he wants I hope it backfires on them. I remember in the late 80's there was a pitcher that wasa lock to go #1 in the MLB draft, Todd Van Poppel. Atlanta had the #1 pick and he didnt want to go to Atl because they sucked and his people were claiming to be worried about being rushed and overused or whatever. He claimed he was going to U of Texas no matter what. The A's who were good at the time got him later jn the draft and he signed with them. The A's began a long period of sucking and Van Poppel was rushed to the big leagues where he busted. Atlanta's pitching staff became the best in baseball and they were in the playoffs every year. Im hoping Embiid has a similar fate. Unless or course the Bucks take him, then I hope hes Duncan or Hakeem.
