sure, he could easily average 20 on a crap team.. but this isn't a crap team

Giannis is the most naturally talented scorer on the team, though. I say he probably leads the team in scoring in the 2017-2018 season, or at least is in the top two with Jabari.

He could lead the team in scoring but I doubt it if Jabari stays healthy. Jabari is definitely the more natural scorer imo.

wow

He was emotional but he said that its time for the younger generation to lead this team and play for us, we brought 3 medals,we won , we have lost but i believe that i offered something to the NT.

There are rumors that Bourousis and Zisis will quit as well which means Giannis will be the one asked along with Sloukas and Calathes to lead the younger team.

Indeed huge respect for him! He brought 3 medals for Greece and a win against a full all star Team Usa when he was younger in a well coached NT full of some of best Greek players in the pick of their career. He played when he was well and young, he played when he was injured, he played when he was older and tired.

He always wanted to serve his Country and now he understood that the best way to serve the Greek NT is to leave and let the new coach( I hope Giannakis) rebuild everything from the beginning around leader Giannis! Giannis proved in this eurobasket that he already became the true HEART of the team.

Now get ready guys because our boy is coming back to Milwaukee bigger, stronger, and thirsty to kick some major ass this season with the most promising team in the league!

WATCH OUT!

Jabari is easily more naturally talented when it comes to scoring the rock. Giannis's strength is that he's an all around threat.

I've talked a lot of **** w/r/t Spanoulis in an NBA context, but I definitely respect his contributions to the Greek NT over time. I'm surprised these guys are retiring BEFORE the Olympics with qualification uncertain. I do think the younger guys are ready. In the short term, I think they'll miss Zisis more then Spanoulis.

Sloukas has been really criticized wrongly.
He doesnt play like that usually he is a very willing passer but he was forced to play like this due to our coaching plan system.
He will not play the same with Giannis leading.

Nah we have plenty of good talent for our guardline Mantzaris, Sloukas, Pappas who missed this Eurobasket due too ACL tear. The one who is irreplaceable is Bourousis. We have very few big men for this level. Big Sofo is in very bad condition the last few years. Most of the others are very soft or poor basketball players. Only Coufos will be a real starter.. We have some good talent in our youth team but it's too soon for them to make the big step..

Both of them are very talented players. I think they were chosen for the best international youth lineup from Fiba this year.
They are not at any chance ready though for high level professional basketball and especially for the top national level..
Both of them are under 18 years old kids yet...

Yeah, I didn't think they were ready yet but Greece has some interesting talent coming up with hopefully Giannis taking the lead role in the short future

I believe there were at least two end of game or end of half half court 3 point heaves by Giannis in the 8 games they have played. One in the Spain game for sure and one in an earlier game. Can anyone confirm this? Was there more?

If you take those away, Giannis hit 41.6% of his threes in the tourney on 3 attempts per game. WOW :o
