It's on Khris for flipping in that weird shot on a 3:1 break instead of throwing it up so Giannis could dunk on Seth Curry.

I know right!?!?! 9 times out of 10 Khris just throws it up to Giannis and let him go get it. I think even Giannis was like...wait..what?

Its obvious to me why he did it. Khris is a well-known humanitarian and by doing what he did he saved Seth Curry's life.

I think people say Top 3 or Top 5 without realizing you can only have 3 or 5 players in there. I think it was just the mindset that of course KD and Embiid are a Top x player without actually thinking about the limitations of that comment.

Its similar to someone the lakers where you say he has to be a Top 5 Laker of all time and then you realize he probably isnt once you actually analyze it. Dumb comment but I dont think JJ actually meant to exclude Giannis

I'm pretty sure Khris is a low-key dirty ass player that should be kicked out of the league... or so I read on the general board.

Lol, they won't even put him in the top tier! Oh well. As long as he beats them time and again, I'm happy having our 2nd tier star.

Apologies if that was already posted.

He’s standing on the sideline cheering on his team in the wake of his scoring record. I feel like with Giannis, he invites EVERYONE to celebrate his basketball milestones together. It’s not just about him. Humility. He’s pretty special. :-D

Giannis is bringing them over. Man if he can keep this up he's actually winning MVP.

It's a tall tall order to ask someone to put up 38-40+ every night and get the W. But man it's in the realm of possibility.

If he wipes out Dallas and the Celtics with big Ws while getting a couple 40 pieces he can actually win MVP.

I've watched half a dozen of these videos in the last 24hrs and "best player in the NBA". "3rd MVP" has been said many times.

I see Giannis playing only 2 more games, tonight against the Bulls and Thursday vs Boston. At Detroit will be a B2B and the finale at Cleveland will probably be meaningless. A big scoring night tonight would be huge.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The MVP is lost imo. We just use the last few games against playoff contenders as practice.

It's almost essentially Jokic's to lose, but it'll be funny to see the vast swings of the media if Gianni were to crush the Bulls and (especially) the Celtics with a couple of 35-15-7 type of games.

I don't know, i think the MVP vote is pretty close. A lot of the pods I've been listening to are split between Giannis and Jokic. It might be 60/40 Jokic but that's it.

Does Jokic get the Giannis treatment of being banned from winning MVPs after his 2nd in a row with no title? Feels like he would be allowed to win a 3rd in a row as media seems to excuse his playoff exits more than Giannis’s exits.

I think it's more "omg we can't give _____ 3 MVPs in four seasons, that would mean they're on the level of Russell, Wilt, Kareem, Jordan and LeBron!!" Even though I think both Gianni and Jokic are going to be perennial

If Jokic wins he's joining this company of 2x winners (not counting more than twice):

Bob Pettit, Karl Malone, Tim Duncan, Steve Nash, Steph Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo. All perennial superstars except for Nash unless you consider him a superstar.

You win the award 3x or more and you're now in the company of these guys:

Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Moses Malone, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and LeBron James. 34 MVP trophies between these five. Or more than half the MVPs awarded in 65 years or so.

The dumbest thing I heard in the broadcast last night was when they were talking about the scoring race, one of the commentators said that maybe if Embiid comes out on top, that will tip some of the MVP voters his way. Now, I should clarify that I don't think the comment itself was dumb, but rather that I'm sure there will be voters stupid enough to let their MVP vote come down to less than half a point per game.

If someone wants to vote for Embiid, fine. He's fantastic. But clinching your vote because he averages 30.4 points per game versus 30.2 versus 30.1 is just stupid.

I know there are some talking heads who mention this and some that actually vote this way, but has it really resulted in anyone getting screwed? It didn't prevent Giannis from getting his second, and it won't prevent Jokic from getting his second. Could be interesting next year if it comes does to Giannis/Jokic as T-1 and Embiid in a similar position this year. Maybe it prevents someone from getting their 3rd, but right now i think is more of a talking point than something actually happening.

Unless you think Giannis deserved it one of the last 2 years?
