Played a Monk character, didn't love it. Trying Necromancer now and having fun.

Once you get through the story once, leveling a new character to 70 for the end game seriously takes about 2 hours. They make it extremely accessible. So don't feel like you have to jump around too much (though certainly do whatever you find fun - I'm the same way with rerolling characters).

FWIW, I think Monk is a slow start but gets very fun when you unlock the later abilities. DH is probably the same way. It's been a long time since I played Crusader, so I don't recall how it is throughout, but end game is fun. Never played a Barbarian actually, so not sure. Wizard is strong throughout, but IMO has boring skills compared to D2 Sorceress. Witch Doctor is fun throughout IMO. Necromancer I just played recently, and is probably my favorite.

City Skylines. I played it quite a bit on Xbox and it’s fairly easy to get into.

LOL that's kinda the opposite of what I was thinking.

Something like this is what inspired the post

But I did watch a 30 minute beginner vid to City Skylines before bed last night and I'm gonna watch a couple more. I already own the game and am installing it now, so I'll probably give it a shot.

There's a game on steam called Townscraper that looks like a simple, chill town builder.

I have no idea what this is, but it popped up on my YT suggestions today, so obviously the algorithm is watching.

Well the trailer is out for NBA 2K22 and get which team doesn’t get featured once. You guessed it our beloved champs do not feature at all. Plenty of lebron,KD,Steph ,Trey Young and Luka but no Bucks??
What gives 2K?

I can't really speak to LeBron outside of the fact that he's probably the most famous player in the world and it's the Lakers, but I think most of the rest of the guys that were featured were simply examples of trying to show off players that got new scans/cover guys.

KD, Luka, Rui, and Candace Parker are the cover athletes. Tatum, LaMelo, Steph, Cade Cunningham, etc. are new scans/I believe are members of "Team 2K". This also happened with the Raptors after they won the title as well (granted they no longer had Kawhi the following season, but still, they could have showed Lowry if they cared about showing the reigning champions).

Excuse me but if you didn't notice the showed us warming up vs the Suns from the nose-bleeds...

But really though, what a joke. The most likeable player on the planet and the reigning champs and no love? Hilarious.

I hope Playstation can remedy the chip shortage with a new PS5 model. I've got alerts on for all the PS5 restocks on twitter, but nothing yet. I wasn't going to bother getting a next gen console because I upgraded the PC, but I figured the PC versions of 2K and Madden would also be next gen. Now I have the itch for next gen and can't find a console lol.

I still use my PS5 a ton, but honestly, very few games truly feel next gen right now. There are some, Ratchet & Clank for example, but the sports games in particular aren't anything to write home about, and I say that as someone that spends most of their time playing those sports games.

My videogame playing has gone down to the lowest it has in years. I play Warzone with some buds on PS5 from time to time, dick around on PC but never actually play much, and then play my Switch before bed.

I've found myself circling back to some older games right now.

My shooting game friends have been taking a break from Rainbow Six Siege so we've gotten back into Apex and Rocket League at the moment. I'm pretty terrible at Apex and pretty blah at Rocket League (low gold ranking), but they're both a lot of fun.

For my sports gaming, I've been taking a break from 2K in the lead up to the new game and I decided to quit my 32 team Madden League that I played in for a few seasons in Madden 21 just due to time constaints and being a bit burned out on the game in general, so the sports games that I've been playing lately (outside of Rocket League) are PES 2020 and Super Mega Baseball 3.

I've also gotten a bit into Crusader Kings 3. Never played a game like this before but it's been pretty fun timesuck for me.

I'm in a bit of a holding pattern right now. I'm in wait and see mode on NBA 2K22 because the rollout of info has been so weird, but the gameplay blog they released today sounds great (but they always do and then in practice, it's never as good as it sounds/they patch the game to hell). I'm excited for Back 4 Blood and the new Battlefield game. Sounds like FIFA will be as blah as ever and PES is going to a free to play model where their franchise mode will be paid DLC that isn't even available until 2022, so nothing to really look forward to on that end.

Just kind of in a weird place gaming wise right now but I also have a lot going on in my normal life so it's alright.

It probably doesn't meet your 'simple' requirement but I picked up Civ 6 a month or so ago and I'm completely hooked. Such a deep game.

Determined to stick with Darkest Dungeon for more than a few hours this attempt. Should I accept death in this game and move on? That I think is where I've bailed. Maybe in XCOM too. Do you just let dudes dying kind of roll of your back and on to the next?

Yup, I always let my dudes die in Darkest Dungeon depending on how much it costs to fix them up.

You can also dismiss them and pick up new ones. That's important in blood moon where you can't let more than 16 die.

I think this is the update that finally gets me to play. I don't know when that'll be - kind of already had my fall gaming lined-up - but next time I can't figure out what to play, I think this is it.
