Revisiting the trade (hope you don't mind), Delon Wright for Sims. Wright was awful for you guys. 34% effective FG percentage is pretty bad. You also gave us Hugo Besson (I don't know a thing about him), and we sent Mathias Lessort to the Wiz to help sell that larger part of the trade.

Wright has become a bit of a revelation for us the last few games, starting at PG with 3 of our guards out (Brunson, Payne & McBride). Do you like Sims? I kind of think Sims is a serviceable but sub-par big. Perfectly fine 10th-12th man. Not someone you really want in the rotation but a guy to carry on a team for emergency use.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

Sims has been good for us. The more he played the more confidence he seemed to have. The last couple games he played he was injured and didn't do much but he was exactly what we needed when Portis was sidelined. His offensive game is poor but we have enough offense, his defense and rebounding are solid.

As for Wright, he sucked and was replaced with KPJ, far better.

The trade seemed to have worked out for both teams.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Wright was still showing enough D to be a useful guy but we just have such a lack of guard play that we couldn't carry him being a zero with the ball.

You're right on Sims, he's a guy who ideally is a backup to the backups but we have been rolling with pretty much just Lopez and Portis for a half decade and Brook is exploited most of the time now instead of some of the time and Bobby even before he got suspended, doesn't offer us any vertical game at all on either end. Sims is a point of difference and a live body. On the Bucks that can make you a rotation player if you're tall.

People were thinking I was nuts for optimism a couple weeks ago. Now it's all coming together. Dame is looking promising to show up possibly in our 1st round, Bobby is coming back on Tuesday, and Sims is ahead of schedule and is likely available in the 1st round as well.

I don't believe there's been any update on Sims. He had surgery on 3/17 with the expectation he'd be out 4 weeks. That takes us to 4/14 with the playoffs starting 4/19. With Bobby back Sims gets bumped down but he'll be good to have in case of foul trouble or injury.

Nehm said he's looked good in workouts, finishing w/ his hurt hand. Doc's playing coy, but this means he'll at least be available for the playoffs, at which point there's no sense in not taking what looks like moderate chances.

It's not just foul trouble or injury. He's a different look from Bobby & Brook. Allows us better pick and pop d to match up w/ shooting bigs like we'll probably play in the 1st round + can still rim protect. The alternative is Giannis-Kuz, but Kuz has struggled on o & rebounding/d waned.

True. But playoff rotations are tight.

I turned it off when he mentioned Dame coming back if we were down 2-0 in a series. Totally how you make decisions when treating a blood clot.

Sims may end up being more playable than Brook, we need him available.

Sims was a sorely needed minimum functional requirements big before he screwed up his thumb. Glad Wright landed on his feet. I've always liked him but he was a disaster handling the ball on the second unit here.

If the Bucks beat Minn and No, while DET beats Sac and loses to NYK. Would we then own the tie breaker?

To my knowledge tie breaker is head to head, then division then conference. That would be wrapped up if they lose to NYK.

You don't have to worry about tie breakers, we're not catching the Pacers. 3 game lead with 4 games left and they have the Wiz next.

Always amazing how when I go to the Google homepage I get these customized Bucks stories.

https://fadeawayworld.net/nba-trade-rumors/brooklyn-nets/brooklyn-nets-could-land-giannis-antetokounmpo-in-blockbuster-trade-proposal-including-three-key-players

Here "NBA Expert" Eddie Bittar says it would make sense for the Bucks to do this trade:

Proposed Trade Details
Brooklyn Nets Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Milwaukee Bucks Receive: Nicolas Claxton, Cameron Johnson, Ziaire Williams (Sign-and-Trade), 2026 First-Round Pick (BKN), 2030 First-Round Pick (BKN), 2031 First-Round Pick (NYK)

I feel like this guy is AI to generate content. And of course I clicked.

I can assure you none of my content is artificially generated. I get it up (the posts) through natural means (whatever thoughts scream across the charred landscape of my mindgrapes).

I don't know what a Giannis trade looks like, but it probably would be a real general manager special that includes a ton of picks, at least three teams and may even break single digits in the number of players moved to make it happen. It would have to be a mindbender just to work salary-wise, provided Tony Brothers and Adam Silver don't team up for some farm-fresh financial chicanery aka GIANNIS TO THE LAKERS THE MILWAUKEE TO LA-LA PIPELINE HATH ALREADY BEEN ESTABLISHED 0.5 CENTURIES A-GO.

No, the Bucks can't clinch a tiebreaker with Detroit before the teams meet up on Friday. They can only clinch the 5th seed outright if they win both of their games and Detroit loses both of there's. Under the scenario you laid out, the Bucks would be 46-34, 7-7 in division and 29-21 in conference while the Pistons would be 44-36, 5-9 in division and 28-22 in conference. If Detroit wins the final 2 they'd be 30-22 in conference while the Bucks would be 29-23.

I think the idea is that they are being overly cautious with it. Meaning the doctors cleared him for game 1, but the Bucks would be playing it safe, and not having him come back unless absolutely needed in the 1st round.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
