Last year in the first round Giannis was averaging 25.7 points in 40 minutes.
This year he averaged 26.3 points in 28 minutes. Twenty-eight!
That's fkn ridiculous, that's 0.93 points per minute

Boston is not gonna put Horfod directly on him for long stretches, that would be suicide. The will rotate many wings on him, Ojeleye, Brown, Moris, Tatum etc with Horford double teaming at the rim. It's not a bad strategy and it usually reduces his per minute production by about 10% or so. But Giannis is a different beast this year, if he cranks up his minutes we're talking about a 30-35 ppg guy. He's peaking at exactly the right time.

3 worst fanbases on here, and #4 is so far behind that I don't even know who it would be.

Toronto fans amuse me though at least.

I am going to address this once. The bucks are a good team, but not a good team. They have not proven that both in the past as a franchise with one championship to show for it and in the present. They have only started to have recent success for a few seasons. Even if you take their team has currently constituted, they are still not a great team. They lost to the celtics in the first round last season, and now in the second round. The term great team is used too loosely. What makes a team a great team is how it is put together, how well they play together and how they perform both in the regular season and playoffs.

Let us see what they do in the post season before calling them a great team, and being a great team is not for one or two seasons. They are a very good team, and should be respected but they are not the warriors, the celtics, bulls, spurs of the past. It is too early to call them a great team. I don't hate the bucks, never did. All i said was that they beatable which is the truth, and they are a good team, but not a great team. At least for now they are not.

Word salad anybody?

I'm still laughing at this idea that the Celtics are this veteran-laden, championship tested contender that everyone seems to be treating them as. They have Kyrie and Horford, a coach with a .500 career playoff record and.......a bunch of 2nd and 3rd year role-players. Really is incredible how any young superstar or team ever breaks through for a long playoff record when you constantly, apparently have to "prove it first".

They're only on your mind because their teams are good right now. Toronto all the time, sure, but NYK (even when they're bad) and especially Chicago are terrrrrrible.

Bought tickets to game 7 if it comes to it. Ticketmaster/ Bucks is cheaper from what I gathered if you're interested.

Really looking forward to this series, but I'm confident my tickets won't be fulfilled. Honestly, I think we win in 5, but wouldn't be surprised in 4 or 6.

I'm not as worried about Horford anymore, but he has been a Bucks killer. Giannis has matured to the point where he bodies Drummond out of the paint, so I think he can handle Horford better than last year. This team is firing, and they have that feel to them like they are at another level. Our scrubs are making huge positive contributions. The only thing I get worried about is a statistical anomaly which can sway a small sample series. Oh and the refs.

In George and Giannis we trust.

P.s. this series is personal for me. When I was a child, I loved the Bucks but they were bad and they traded away Ray Ray and broke my trust. The Celtics were bad too, and for some dumb reason (probably some stupid SI 4 kids article) I loved Paul Pierce and thought he was God's gift to Earth. I cheered for the Celtics and Bucks up until the Celtics won the Championship because I wanted my favorite player to succeed. It wasn't fun after that. I've since come to my senses, and borderline hate Paul Pierce and his cringey takes and bs, and I obviously can't stand Boston fans, so please Bucks, avenge my childhood and let me leave it in the past. It's the last step in learning to love myself.

So best guess would be game 1 is Sunday with small chance of being Saturday? Does that seem reasonable?

Going to have to play our best D of the season to win and I’m not sure we are up to it without Brogdon. Giannis is the best player but the Celtics have a better team. Our D has to be better then their O. Curious to see who is the better coach. Going to go with Bucks in 6 cus it’s kinda catchy.

That's a particularly bitter song about the terrible nature of war, particularly WWI. It's probably not a metaphor I'd encourage, particularly as this week is ANZAC Day, a day of national remembrance for those that served (and died) in war. It will be played in Australia and New Zealand a fair bit on Thursday.

Not having a go at you but I know Americans hold their veterans in deep reverence and I'm sure you'd wish to be respectful.

Oh it’s a great song, I know it well. Meant no disrespect. I just thought about the sadness and pain Baynes might feel after getting repeatedly dunked on and it reminded me of that soldier. Americans certainly revere the military and Aussies have been side by side in many terrible wars for over a hundred years.

What are you talking about?

Amos Barshad: "So you got a job, a place to live, a license? What’s left?"

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”

How do we stop the Celtics ? Pretty sure whoever you put Bledsoe on will be screwed. If that means Irvine then he will be locked up.

That leaves the rest of the Celtics mob who aren't exactly efficient. We just need to trust our game and play at a high level after this.

Keeping Tatum out of the lane would be good. The rest of them are just nobodies really. Let Horford have his usual impact and eventually he'll stop making every shot eventually lol

There's a secret and key to winning. Getting under Horford's skin enough to make him a scared little girl

They should crumble after seeing Horford rattled

I haven't seen anything to suggest either way. Almost thinking Saturday since all of series but 1 will likely be wrapped up by tomorrow night.

There's a large group of Boston fans (hesitant to characterize it as "most") who vocally believe that Semi Ojeleye is fully able to guard Giannis one-on-one. My guess is Brad Stevens is not among them, but I hope he is.

I'm guessing Saturday start unless Sixers or Raptors go 7, in which case those series would close out on Saturday and we'd start Sunday. If those both close out tonight or Thursday we'll start Saturday in their place and they'll start Sunday.

That's how things seem to lineup with the schedule: https://www.nba.com/playoffs/2019/schedule#/
