As for raptor fans, real delusion and desperation on their part. Winning the chip seems to have given them false level of expectation. Only a handful of teams are big FA destinations and toronto isn't one of them. They profited from a peculiar and unfortunate spurs-kawhi situation but now that's over and it reinstates that their best bet is to draft someone that can become superstar and can really buy in.

Coming in peace here. While I acknowledge there are some on our board who want to recruit and don't agree with me/us, there are a good number who are turned off by the FA mess/tampering/podcast/ESPN BS that goes on. We do not want 2 years of recruiting to happen, we do not want our players to be whispering to Giannis like LeBron did to Kawhi, we do not want our team president attending multiple Bucks home games like the Clippers president did in TO. As a fan, who is experienced in tier1 FAs not eager to come to my team, I, and others, feel empathy for your position. Will Masai have cap room available? Most likely. Would we want him to tamper in any way? Would we want your team or city to be bad mouthed by ESPN personalities and others? Would we want you to have to live through two years of speculation? Absolutely not.

It's not 'recruiting' on RealGM, it's just trolling on here since what you guys want and hope for has no bearing whatsoever on what your team does. It's annoying af to see Toronto fans spam their delusions about poaching Giannis away in every Giannis thread on the general board while trashing the city of Milwaukee because of some passing association with Ujiri with them both being of Nigerian heritage, it's gotten really old really fast. I'm not too worried about actual tampering or recruiting from Toronto's end, I don't think there is much to sell with Kawhi gone & a rebuild pending so it's just entirely a fan/media driven thing.

I know Kawhi leaving hurts but you don't have to project that hurt on to us which is what this is, there is a serious inferiority complex going on up in The North™. That's not saying you guys are inferior in anyway either hence the complex part, I kind of seems like this is a problem with Canadians in general with so much of their identity tied up in being 'not American'. I'm generalizing and not speaking directly so don't take it personally fwiw.

The Ujiri cult of personality is approaching Hinkie levels and it's really annoying, if he was such a god he would have been able to retain Kawhi. Cool smart guy sure and much better at his job than Hinkie but people go so overboard, I guess you need something to put your hope in. If I were Ujiri I would focus on starting the rebuild and developing from within because you can't count on NBA free agents years out unless you're one of the 3 chosen big markets in the NBA that players want to go to, that's a big risk even if you are one of those markets as shown by the Knicks swinging & missing the offseason.

It is what it is. I cant blame another teams' fans for dreaming, especially after their hearts got ripped out. Only way to view it is flattery. Giannis is very special and for the time being he is our guy. I firmly believe he will play his full career here but anything can happen. Enjoy him.

Well, I'm not in favor of the trolling either. As for our respect of Ujuri, it has a lot to do with how inept most of our previous GM's were. We've really never had a competent one before. As for FAs we will never be as delusional as the Knicks.

You are correct. Much of the Canadian identity is tied up in not being American, even though there is much in America to admire.

You can thank their Locked on Bucks host for spewing the Ujuri bull all over the place. He’s a treat. And I don’t know who in Toronto would even be whispering in Giannis ear to play for them...He’s not even friends with people who play in the NBA like the current stars are. Who ya got? Lowry? Freddie V? Ehhhh. Just let Drake handle it, might go better this time.

Super cool that a Milwaukee Bucks player won the ESPYs Male athlete of the year award

How the **** did Masai help his family emigrate (wrong word?) from Nigeria? Why have I never heard Giannis mention this?
It was probably just a typo on the Toronto Star. The guy probably meant to say "helped Giannis migrate from Greece to the US" which is the only thing that makes sense considering the timeline (Masai was 21 and a student in the US at the time and Giannis's family was from another city in Nigeria and had exactly zero to do with basketball, so how did he even know them).

Never mind that Giannis's family migrated to Greece illegally at the time, so if Masai did actually help them cross the borders, what would that make him exactly?

Just promise me that the phrase "He Stay" is never uttered here by Bucks fans pondering whether or not Giannis signs an extension or elects free agency. It sounded terribly dumb when Toronto fans used it as a motto before Kawhi decided. In hindsight it's even worse now that "He Be Gone".

Just came here to post this. The guy is absolutely incredible I can't believe we have a super star that is probably one of the most down to earth and loyal people that exists. If the Bucks are in contention there is no way he is leaving. He talks about how Nike was the first company to take a chance on him and that's why he resigned with them.
Misery loves company

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
